Yes the kopi tahi musang or kopi luwak is such a popular item in Vietnam and is very expensive too. I hear that it is so in Indonesia too.

.. recently there were pics of this musang (a few of them ) in captivity given the task of consuming coffee berries for that purpose .. n the poo were collected to turn into that kopi luwak (is it the right term ?:) the story goes it cost USD600 per pound n the coffee give a slightly bitter taste :) popular in Indonesia & the Philippines ..

.. I have heard stories that wild elephants consume durian whole, wrapped in leaves for easy swallowing, but the fruits were expelled intact at it journeyed thru the elephant stomach system, >> n there are people who dare to open n eat the durian, saying it taste just like other durian .. hehe .. :)

I can confirm that about the durians from elephants. My late uncle was a warden of Taman Negara and I remember him telling of such durians.

      .. :):)

Woow, what a fruit?????. Never heard nor seen it before!.
To be significant with the name, I believed one must eat it very slowly like the tortoise in order to enjoy it
                  :)

.. this specie is wild, found in Borneo .. some account say it emit the smell of tortoise urine, hence the name : http://www.omaq.org/v3/2009/10/08/durian-kura-...
