Buffalohair: Akwesasne Mohawks Stand Their Ground
Akwesasne Mohawks Stand Their Ground

The Canadian Border Services Agency reopened the *Seaway International Bridge between Cornwell and the Akesasne Mohawk Nations after a 15 hour stand off. At issue was the Canadian governments proposed issuing firearms to the guard detail. With tensions already at an all time high tribal residence feared this would only lead to bloodshed since they already suffered harassment from the guards as it were.
According to John Boots of the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation;
”They’re so nasty and harassing our people that we can almost feel … their finger being itchy on the trigger,”
Earlier, tribal members protested this blatant violation of their tribal sovereignty while increasing the chances of deadly confrontations by government authorities. This caused guards to blockade the bridge for 15 hours while tribal leaders and authorities then hammered a solution to this potentially volatile situation.
Plagued with assaults and acts of intimidation by the CBSA in the past, arming the guards sent an ominous message to the community. The list of atrocities perpetrated by the government authorities is comparable to the government of Burma and its acts of brutality. Providing weapons would surely escalate the probability of racially motivated shootings where beatings once prevailed. Almost to the day, a year earlier guards savagely beat two elder women on this infamous crossing leaving a bad taste in the mouths of this tribal nation.
The reopening of the bridge was a relief to the residence since life could get back to normal. News of the reopening was welcomed by loud cheers from protesters. The government authorities pulled all their guards out of the area for safeties sake according to according to Ron Moran, Customs and Immigration Union leader.
It is astounding to note indigenous people must still endure racial hatred in an era where civil liberties and human rights are purported by nations of the so called free world. Sadly this type of activity still exists throughout the America’s but rarely reported by the mainstream press. In a New World Order where economics out weighs the concerns of human rights and civil liberties, events like this will undoubtedly continue to occur as the world looks the other way.
Ironically, the Mohawks are but a microcosm as governments of the world continue these silent acts of hatred against the indigenous populations on every continent of the globe. From Rangoon to Rapid City the silent war continues and the cries of fellow human beings go unnoticed by an ambivalent world. Only when tyranny has come full circle will mankind realize the totality of their indifference but by then it will be too late.

Buffalohair: Human Rights Violations by Touchstone Energy Af
Buffalohair: Human Rights Violations by Touchstone Energy Affiliate.
Human Rights Violations by Touchstone Energy Affiliate.
601px-crow_creek_flag_svg
As the winter storms roll through the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation in South Dakota an affiliate of Touchstone Energy Cooperative, Central Electric Cooperative, chose to cut the power to infirmed, elderly and family homes. With an unusually bitter winter thus far families were thrust into life threatening situations as power for their homes was summarily cut. Exorbitant reconnection fees gouged this impoverished American Indian Community as people were forced to pay what was nothing more than extortion.
The bitter irony to this situation was the fact a hydro-electric dam was built on their tribal land. The terms for construction were quite simple, give the tribe free electricity as the conditions for building the dam. Sadly that was not the case as yet another promise or treaty was broken in the interests of the corporate bottom line. The fact the power was shut off during the dead of winter was a clear violation of a long standing policy forbidding the removal of services such as electricity during winter. With the winter as extreme as it has been this year makes this a Human Rights Violation, plain and simple. The fact elderly people on electric medical devices as well as infants were living in these homes showed cause for a criminal investigation at the very least.
Where temperatures have dipped below -50 in one of the worst winters in as many years this was a crime against humanity. Leaving elderly people who needed respirators to fend for themselves in the bitter cold was a shear act of brutality. Leaving children to freeze in the harsh winter months was a total and callous disregard for life and all of which should be investigated and the culprit’s charges with crimes against humanity.
This shameful display of wanton disregard for human life will reflect negatively on Touchstone Energy Cooperative since Central Electric Cooperative is under their watchful wing. If it was not for the valiant efforts of Can-Do, a nonprofit organization, the smell of death would permeate the air whence the spring thaw came to this region. With extreme winter conditions still plaguing this region as of this writing the death toll may still be of significant consequence as storms pummel this impoverished region of America. The Central Electric Coop will surely have blood on their hands if death is the bounty for their conduct. Touchstone Energy Cooperative COO Jim Bausell will have to come up with some real answers as to why their affiliate decided to pull meters in the dead of winter. Is this the standing policy of Touchstone and their associates across the country or is this just the policy on American Indian Reservations? And why was the agreement to provide electricity to the people of the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation ignored? I would like to know and I am sure the whole world would like to know as well.
The world should know about this horrific state of affairs within the continental United States of America. The world should know the people who’ve chosen to disregard the basics of human rights and dignity as well as their associates for they are nothing more than common criminals. And if someone dies because of their gross misconduct they should be tried for murder.
Please take the time to review the video I provided and take the time to write your state and federal representatives to show your disgust. There is no question Touchstone Energy will have their corporate hands out to collect their share of Stimulus Money. They will want some of that corporate welfare to bolster their corporate bottom line. Sadly when it came to the good people of the Crow Creek Sioux Indian Reservation they could not show the slightest bit of humanity.

Buffalohair Paris Hilton Wins

Paris Hilton Wins
In a landslide victory Paris Hilton won the presidential election in the greatest upset in US history. Well, not really but from a factual point of view the election might as well have been won by Paris since the media selected the candidates, not the people. It’s shameful that both political factions had a major network plugging their propaganda and total spin on the elections though. Course Keith Obermann appears to be the most real of them all, the twisted devil that he is. The void left by Tim Russert’s passing has yet to be filled. It would have been interesting to see Sarah Palin on his show indeed.
Ron Paul was simply ignored and made ridicule of for his stance on the Constitution and the corporate criminals who’ve hijacked a country. Though he managed to garner record breaking loads of money and support the main stream media simply ignored him. Without equal time afforded other candidates his position was obscured and/or distorted. In most cases the media simply lied strategically. With the Constitution of the United States as his platform it is a sure bet corporatists did not want him to get any momentum. With all the obstacles placed in front of him he still managed to plant the seed of true democracy in the hearts of millions. The corporate owned media snuffed out his candidacy, not the voting public.
With friends in the mainstream media I know how tied their hands are when reporting some stories. Freedom of speech has silently become impinged with technical unconstitutionality. Money buys influence and tainted news is the outcome, in this case a presidential election. The fact both McCain and Obama were animate about the bogus Bail-Out as well as NAFTA and other One World garbage should have been an indicator the fix was in this election year. Their core tenets parallel George Bush’s only the superficial is different. We are going to be feed the same old stale cake as before. Only difference is the flavor of the frosting, Capice?
Purported to be the first African American President it should also be noted his non African side of the family is also a member of the “Presidents Club”. Hillary Clinton and Dick Cheney also share his blood line dating back to Colonial times and jolly ole England, go figure. Therefore I don’t see much change except at the onset. In all sensibilities the fate of humanity as opposed to blatant corporate interests lay in the hands of Obama’s rich African ancestry fore the “Presidents Club” has brought America to her knees. Ironically Darfur comes to mind as humanity turns a deaf ear on the cries of the innocent. Possibly Obama will hear their cries from the compassionate side of his persona. Will he keep his promise to the Indigenous community or will it be just more pandering as usual every election year? One thing is for certain. On November 15 George W. Bush will make his pitch for a One World economical solution for the current crisis. It will be interesting how see Obama’s position on George’s scam.
The World Economic Summit on Nov. 15th will expose the actual international players in the bogus One World Order. It will also be the dying breath of national sovereignty for every nation who plays into this thinly veiled attempt to take over the world. Of course the voice of the people will not be heard, no matter what “free world” country one resides. Corporatism at it’s finest as the fate of the world population is dictated by industrial concerns. The term “socialism” was tossed around during the presidential campaign. Sadly this was likened to closing the gate after the horses got out.
Nothing like being a stick in the mud I always say eh. As if on queue, a charismatic leader rose from the ashes of a broken economy. Interestingly enough are the many tales of the time of change that make mention of a charismatic figure that would come to pass. The road to hell is lined with good intentions they say. Also mentioned in many sacred works is a critical chain of events that coincide with the introduction of this champion of men. Intentional or not his stewardship will guide humanity further towards a new form of tyranny. I venture to say economical, doi!
Whether or not mankind is aware of this turn of events varies from dogma to dogma. Some speak of humanity struggling to find their path in a time of chaos while others believe “they” are selected to survive at the expense of others. One shared belief is mankind will be thrust at the doorsteps of tyranny. But as this turn of events comes to pass Ma Earth throws a monkey wrench into the works. What was once considered important will be of no consequence since survival would be the order of the day. You know, that elements of the four directions stuff. The reality of it all is that it was inevitable and it does not matter who or what started the cycle we are on. This was not humanities first rodeo with a mass extinction either.
On the other side of the coin Obama’s strong African roots may be just the perfect adversary to the status quo and conventional wisdom that haunts Washington. He could very well be a wild card in the stacked deck of political poker. I’d be happier than a dog in heat if Obama averted world catastrophe and altered the course of human history. Maybe humanity will have a chance and possibly Obama would put corporate interests in their proper place. It would be totally awesome if Obama struck down all the executive orders Bush signed into effect giving the President of the United States absolute power ignoring the Constitution of the United States of America and ignoring national sovereignty world wide. Would be so bitchen if Obama struck down all Bush’s crappola under the conditions Bush violated the terms of his contract with America. The fact Bush violated the Constitution, the very document he swore to honor and uphold voided his presidency. Then the Treasury Department slaps a lean on George’s Crawford Ranch, Arrests Dick Cheney and Karl Rove on charges of high treason. Striped of all his worldly possessions, George Bush goes back to drinking and drugging. Laura divorces George and moves in with Conan O’Brian.
National leaders who were chums with President Bush would be rounded up by INTERPOL and Scotland Yard in a worldwide sweep of corrupt politicians. It would be discovered Tony Blair was working in a popular coffee Shoppe in Winnipeg Canada under the assumed name Maurice. Covered in lice, Karl Rove would weigh 105lbs and living in a homeless camp along the railroad tracks in Glendale California when he was arrested. Dick Cheney would be stalking David Letterman when he was finally captured, dressed in a bunny suite. Oh what a wonderful world it will be.

Blog: Buffalohair: Denver Happenings to Enhance the Conventi
Denver Happenings to Enhance the Convention Experience
Democratic Convention goers will not be at a loss for culturally rich events to enjoy when they step out of the convention center. The gathering listed below sound like one of these events.
"Native Nations: Uniting for Change"
Event to Be Held August 27 in Conjunction with Democratic National Convention
To honor and celebrate Native Americans' historic engagement in the political process this year, a truly unique event, "Native Nations: Uniting for Change", will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at the Denver Art Museum. The event will be held to honor the Congressional Native American Caucus and the Native American Delegates to the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
"This event will celebrate the nomination of Sen. Barack Obama as the Democratic Presidential Nominee and bring together tribal leaders, U.S. Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and other friends of Indian country for a day of discussion, education, networking, Native American art, and live performances," said Mark Macarro, Tribal Chairman, Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians and DNC Platform Committee Member.
The DNC in Denver will highlight the increasingly important role of Native Americans in the electing of America's leaders. The 2008 DNC will include a record number of Native delegates as Native voices are being heard like never before. Native American leaders describe the 2008 Election year as historic and marked by an unprecedented effort by the candidates to pay heed to tribal communities and concerns. The Native vote this year could very well decide the outcome in key battleground states.
Joe A. Garcia, President of the National Congress of American Indians, will serve as moderator for the policy forum from 2 – 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Topic areas to be discussed include the Native American Plank of the Democratic Platform, A New Administration – Honoring the Government to Government Relationship, Indian Country's Request for the Presidential Transition Plan, and Legislative Priorities Outlooks.
Native Nations Reception, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
This innovative reception will include a Native American art exhibition, Native inspired multi-media presentations and food, as well as a live art performance by painter Bunky Echo-Hawk (Pawnee/Yakama). Echo-Hawk will create a painting beginning at 5 p.m. that will be inspired by the historic role that Native Americans are playing in this year's presidential election. In addition, there will be musical performances by Meighan Meisters, a young First Nations artist. The reception will be held in Ponti Hall in the North Building of the Denver Art Museum.
Democratic National Convention Viewing Party, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
A live feed of the DNC will be provided for all attendees in the Ponti Hall in the North Building of the Denver Art Museum.
Native Nations After Party, 9:00 – 11:00 p.m.
The after party will include live music and entertainment in the Ponti Hall in the North Building of the Denver Art Museum.
Native Nations: Uniting for Change is sponsored by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, the Gila River Indian Community, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, and the Seneca Nation of Indians and is organized by NVisionIt LLC, a Colorado-based, Native-owned firm.

Political Prisoner March, Denver Colorado Aug 25th
Timing is everything and with over 15,000 journalists converging on Denver Colorado as well as thousands of participants in the Democratic Convention, you could not ask for better exposure. Red Tree Woman has organized a Freedom March in an effort to shed light on unconstitutional realities dealing with political prisoners held in the United States and territories.
It will be interesting to note of the giant temporary jail will be filled with angry Billary fans or American’s protesting cruel and unusual punishment. This and other Human Rights violations are alive and well within the confines of the land of the free. It would not surprise me if this and other demonstrations including Billary loyalists are simply silenced during the convention. Out of sight, out of mind at least to the outside world, hmm that’s out of China’s book of dirty deeds eh.
The Chinese government was railroading two elderly women just for making a legal request to protest the Olympic Games. Other protest organizers who’ve applied disappeared as well, poof! China has designated protest areas so there can be orderly protests. This was to show China’s new face to the world, an up coming economy and international business partner. This was supposed to show China’s Glasnost and/or metamorphosis. On the contrary this inadvertently reveled the dark inner workings of a totalitarian regime. It exposed a regime that will stop at nothing to silence all opposition. Dare I mention Indigenous hero’s who’ve died? Just seems strange how our outspoken champions die or get defamed though.
I can’t help but stress how important it is for the world to know we have political prisoners. I believe this event is truly a noble cause and well worth focusing attention to. If you’re at the convention and want a different viewpoint for balance, head down to Civil Central Park. It’s a straight shot down Colfax Ave from Investco Field. Here is a link to Civic Central Park with complete instructions and history of this region. Very informative and it will enhance your Denver experience if your from out of town. I would venture to say it would be wise to head to this place several hours early since I bet traffic will be impossible around the convention.
Denver maps, history etc. If you get lost, it’s all on you.

As for the ever so talented Savage Family, you could not find a more dedicated group of human beings. They will be a most welcome complement to this most informative and culturally enriching event. Articulate, talented and dedicated to our youth and the future of all traditional people. They are truly humanitarians and a ray of light in this dark and ambivalent world. Their shows are more than just excellent music; it's an experience. In any event, here is the flyer Red Tree Woman gave me.

Buffalohair:Government fraud and the Indian Trust Debacle

Government fraud and the Indian Trust Debacle
Since the Indian Trust was first imposed in 1887 the systematic process of eliminating documents, lineage and evidence had begun by industrial interest and the government as a whole. History books blatantly boasted of how unscrupulous railroad officials tampered with documents giving them 50 miles on either side of the railroad right of way rather than the 50 feet in essence robbing land from trusting Native leaders.
Since time immemorial I remember the story of the old school house that contained volumes of documents owning up to lineage, ownership and agreements with the US Government. Treaties, business agreements and ultimately the money itself had disappeared over the years along with the birth right of untold thousands whose records were destroyed. With out the federal government to enforce the agreements imposed by the 1887 Indian Trust Agreement billions of dollars in negotiated and agreed terms of reimbursement have gone unrecognized and unpaid. Fact is, in recent years yet another government building containing more documents related to this and other Native concerns went up in smoke destroying even more priceless documentation. What a coincidence eh.
Clearly the government and industry had a free for all during the first 100 years of this Indian Trust Disaster. When Elouise Cobell (Black Foot Nation) first filed the class action suite 11 years ago the government had already admitted to the wholesale mismanagement of the funds that were conservatively estimated to be $46 BILLION dollars. Judge Royce Lamberth was assigned the case and over time he proved to be a champion of the letter of the law. After growing impatient with government excuses and failure to address issues pertaining to the case and down right fraud he was quoted as saying about the governments conduct during the case;
"A shocking pattern of deception. I have never seen more egregious conduct by the federal government."
In July 2005 Lamberth wrote that the Department of Interior was;
"a dinosaur--the morally and culturally oblivious hand-me-down of a disgracefully racist and imperialist government that should have been buried a century ago,"
The Justice Department promptly had him removed. Judge James Robertson took over the case in 2007. Though siding with the plaintiffs he questioned the methodology of calculating the mismanaged funds that exceeded $40 billions dollars. Rather, he sided with industry and the government in calculating the debt owed and awarded $455 million bucks in spite of an earlier government offer of $7 billion dollars to settle the case. In short, the series of fires dating back from the old school house to a massive government building fire in recent years proved fruitful in the government’s commission of fraud. Justice was not served and the beat goes on.
For the complete story and documentation on this case I urge you to log onto site I have provided and read the complete transcript. It is very compelling to see how justice works when Indigenous people are concerned. http://www.indiantrust.com/ Funny how 120 years of industries theft of natural resources including coal, gold, oil and other mineral resources have only accumulated a paltry $455 g’s. The stolen resources built a nation while leaving trusting business partners penniless and living in third world conditions. Then people have the gall to say Natives are always looking for a handout. If we were given what was promised and agreed to we would not be living in poverty in the first place.
What comes around goes around eh. Now we all are living with a rouge government who caters to the whims of industry. The core tenets of the Constitution are being systematically ignored and relegated to the scrap heap. But nobody is paying attention. We the people of the Indigenous World were just screwed big time proving one thing, “Lies prevail in the kangaroo courts of the federal system”, and you are next.

Buffalohair ONTARIO TOWN DECLARES WAR ON NATIVES
ONTARIO TOWN DECLARES WAR ON NATIVES
The mayor of Brantford Ontario Canada, Mike Handcock has requested military forces to silence impending Native protests. The issue is the development of sovereign land owned by the Six Nations. Though non Native documents foretell of an agreed land acquisition, Native history disputes this land deal dating back to January 18, 1841. According to Six Nations, back then the chiefs were coerced, deceived and intimidated into signing away the land in question. This has been common practice by settlers since time immemorial. Now, the local government of Brantford wishes to raise the stakes by implementing the use of Canadian military forces.
Imprisonment, violence and death have been the order of the day when Aboriginal issues come to play as it is. After all the aboriginal communities throughout the America’s has been the secret “third world” since conquest. From putrid E-Coli infested drinking water to the wholesale total disregard of treaties and business deals, Native’s have been under siege. Yet like the situation in Burma, the world looks on since this is just an internal matter.
The Métis of Black Tickle, Labrador only wanted clean drinking water and a road to connect them to the Trans Labrador Highway. Their dying community wanted just a piece of the budding tourist trade Canada wants to foster. Their location was a perfect travel, hunting and fishing location that would have improved the quality of this beleaguered fishing community. But Canadian corporate interests have other plans and relocation was the only option that was provided them. Why couldn’t these Natives own and operate hotels, restaurants and other tourist related interests in this pristine location? Now there is not a peep about their plight. Another humble Native community shall disappear from the face of the Earth.
The Western Shoshone are under siege since a gold mining company wants to level a sacred mountain with total disregard for sovereign land and treaties, go figure. A corporate pig farmer wants to build a pig processing plant just outside of the Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. With a half million swine producing hundreds of thousands of pounds of crap they will have massive containment ponds within the proximity of a Native school house on the other side of the reservations borders. And what is the deal with Brazil anyway? They used to justify the wholesale destruction of rain forests in order to pay off this bogus World Bank. Untold Native’s were murdered in the process. Now that Brazil has paid off their debt the Native’s are still under siege since now the government wants to build housing tracts in their pristine fishing and hunting land, villages and the like. There is even a dam proposed that will displace thousands of villagers from their native land. This is progress? Ah but who is paying attention anyway.
Well, more people will be imprisoned and even killed in Ontario since the Cavalry will be there to quell the Native problem with bullets. Native’s will die protecting the last scrap of sovereign ground they own and their bones will be crushed by bulldozers as construction of a new condominium and housing tract is built, all in the name of progress. And yuppers folks, it’s all about the money Paisan, it’s all about the money.

Buffalohair HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, OR IS IT?
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, OR IS IT?
As we prepare to celebrate Mothers Day across the Americas and abroad, for some this is a sad time. Within the Aboriginal communities in Canada, America and Mexico sorrow fills the eyes of those who lost their beloved mothers. In Canada alone over 500 Aboriginal women have been murdered and simply came up missing in the last 20 years. This statistic is shared throughout the Northern Hemisphere. This disproportionate figure is a clear sign the conquering people of the America’s have little regard for the Native populations as a whole. Of course other social issues go unaddressed as well and the “secret third world of the America’s” struggles to exist in this ambivalent world we live.
Both Native and non Native people shared a moment in grief and anguish in downtown Edmonton Canada yesterday during the Stolen Sister Awareness Walk. Without the assistance of the callous governments as a whole, human beings decided to stage a memorial walk to remember the fallen and lost Aboriginal women of the America’s. Tearfully they walked in silent protest for the total disregard for human life in this on going tragedy.
As an Aboriginal child growing up within the borders of America I saw first hand how non Native men treated my mother. I feel fortunate my mother is still alive with all the abuse she had to endure. Respect was not an option for her and she was constantly made a target by these repugnant swine. With 7 out of 10 assaults on Aboriginal women committed by non Native men it is hard for me to be objective. But I am since I know Aboriginal men are also to blame for this crime against women. Looking past race and culture I find it absolutely appalling women of any ethnicity are simply regarded as sexual object as a whole. Wage disparities are signs women are not welcome in the “Men’s Club” of the work place and other venues of employment.
Testosterone filled world politics has left the world in one hell of a mess for centuries. Sex sells only because Wall Street has conditioned the general population to except Bimbo Based Advertising as a norm. Yup. It’s all about the money Paisan. The negative side effect has become the total disregard for women. Show some tits and ass to sell a car or buy a health product. That’s the axiom of commercial advertising. With no regard for the consequences of targeting women to sell their goods the corporate world can share the blame for the ambivalence for the concerns of women everywhere. Add the Aboriginal aspect to this equation and it is easy to see why the plight of Aboriginal women has reached astronomical proportions.
Before conquest women within Aboriginal communities were held in high esteem. They were the givers of life, keepers of the home and the back bone of villages far and wide. Tribal decisions were discussed jointly by men and women. There was balance in the decisions that were made since both viewpoints were considered. Stories from long ago told of how the women used to run the men out of the Ti Pi to hunt so the women could do the daily chores like making hides for clothing, prepare food and tend to the children. Then came conquest, liquor and the total disregard for women. Such is life eh.
I remember back in the 70’s in a major Colorado city two women were hired onto a police department. This action caused a furor in the men’s club behind the blue line. One evening one of the women officers made a call for assistance. She called and called franticly since the situation was dire. Her calls were not answered and she was subsequently beaten to death while the men of the PD drank coffee and ignored her pleads. I remember the story well since I dated the other woman officer. She also told me of other secrets behind the blue line but I will save those tidbits for another story. But this was a classic example of how ingrained this disregard for women has permeated society, even in law enforcement. Dare I mention the issue of spousal abuse within the confines of the blue line fore it is another “secret issue”.
In any event, enjoy your mother no matter what culture you hale from. Everyday should be considered Mothers Day though.
