President Steve Wynn, I Wish

Prez Steve copy
By now it should be clear we have the wrong people running our government. From the Democratic to the Republican Party, we the voting public have been ripped off and ripped off big time. What this country needed last election was someone with real leadership qualities capable of pulling us out of this economical slump. Ideally this person would already have a successful tract record of solid accomplishments in the world of finance. What America needed was a class act with a vision, a real commander and chief not a neophyte chair folding community organizer.
Enter Steve Wynn, self made billionaire real-estate and entertainment maven who established a new standard of excellence in resorts and entertainment venues around the world. From dirt to diamonds Wynn built a billion dollar empire with elegance, grace and shrewd business savvy in this highly competitive market. Well versed and educated, Steve also does not need a teleprompter and this was exemplified in a debate with *Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm. In a spirited conversation she tried to put words in his mouth in a convoluted attempt to show face. He held his ground and put the lackluster governor in her place. It was a precious moment, bravo Steve. This is leadership and a thing called moxie, something that has gone out of style within our political circus. He did not have a czar to advise him and he did it his way.
In a time when the economy was faltering in the worst Steve Wynn would have been the logical choice for president. With moxie, class and keen business savoir faire Wynn would have been a winner for the people of this nation. Without mincing words he pointed out some hard facts about our downwardly spiraling economy and the lack of leadership.
“The priorities of the administration should have been more directly focused on job creation from the day of the inauguration forward”, further Wynn said, “If the government had used its power to restrain its tax collection, they would have given everybody who runs small businesses, large businesses, a chance to hire more people,”
As we all should realize by now the government feed the top of the pyramid rather than the bottom with TARP and the Bail-Out fiasco with more to come. The people voted for positive change in an effort to save their jobs and homes but were fed a bill of goods by self serving politicians who only worried about their retirement accounts. They got the cash and we got the crumbs. We are still losing jobs and homes in record number while Wall Street breaches the 10,000 mark. And the projection for next year is the continued downward spiral, for us anyway.
But what really struck home with me was this final quote from Steve Wynn,
“Government has never increased the standard of living of one single human being in civilization’s history.”
He was absolutely right on the money. Unchecked government has always managed to victimize their populous throughout history. It was this victimization that gave birth to America in the first place if you will recall. Remember the mad King George of England, his taxation without representation and the victimization of the American colonists? History has a way of reel its ugly head and now we are the victims of a government who caters to business while leaving the electorates to fend for them selves. Like it or not Steve Wynn called a spade a spade and called it like it is, bada bing, bada bang, bada boom.
