About me

Once upon a time, there was a farmer named John, who owned a flour plantation in California. John loved to bake anything from pies to cupcakes to cookies. He had a large oven to cook them in. John's favorite topping was whipped cream. He put it on everything he made, especially his pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie was John's specialty. Everyone in town loved it and rejoiced when he gave them some on special holidays. Every year John had a stand at the County Fair. It was the pumpkin-pie eating contest. All the little boys and occasional little girls joined in not only to win, but also to eat John's sensational pumpkin pie.

This year a little girl named Sallie entered along with the usual boys. Nobody knew her very well, even though she'd lived here three years. Once the contest started, everyone stared at Sallie.
