It's been a crazy week and yesterday was the worst. I was with my daughter Christy and we were in our first ever car accident. The roads were icey and snowy and it was 12 degrees. We were driving on the narrow rural road Christy lives on when a Blazer came suddenly around a sharp corner. Christy tried to get over to the right a little and the van started sliding. We hit the Blazer and went off into the ditch. No one was hurt but Christy's mirror hit the Blazer's mirror which went into their driver side window and shattered it. The guy got out of his Blazer and started yelling at Christy but it was because he was scared and just had glass shatter in his face. He calmed down after Christy assured him she was a licensed, insured driver and was terribly sorry. The sherrif came and we sat for 2 hours while he took pics of the tracks in the snow and did his measurements. The man apologized for yelling at Christy, he said he was scared which is what I thought and he even let Christy use his cell phone to call Mellissa's sister to come with the chains and truck to pull us out of the ditch as we didn't have any money for a tow truck.

Everyone was shook up but not hurt, thank goodness. I was afraid the guy had glass in his face or eyes, but he was okay. Christy got a ticket for being left of center, but it could've been a lot worse. If she hadn't tried to get over we would have hit him a lot harder. Both vehicles were doing about 30 mph I think. You tend to drive more towards the middle on unplowed back roads as the ditches are filled in and there is now way to see exactly where they drop off. We were fine until we started sliding. To me that is one of the scariest things in the world when you have no control of your vehicle and it just goes sliding off and doesn't stop until you hit something, in our case the ditch. But it turned out okay, and we are all fine.

Have a good weekend and stay safe.

Hi kittens! How was your Christmas?

I had a very lovely Christmas with my family. My girls got me a stereo which is so appreciated since my cd player wore out over a year ago. Now I don't have to use my dvd player and tv to listen to my music.

I got a 2 disc cd of New Age music with many artists on it. (David Arkenstone, Andreas Vollenweider, Kitaro, to name a few) and some raspberry vanilla soaps and lotions.

The best part of Christmas day was being with my children and their families, we had so much fun and there was plenty of food, love and laughter. *contented sigh*
