      Actually about 2 years ago, and it hasn't changed for these people. The Pennsylvania Dutch (Deutch)descend from people who came here about 300 -200 years ago mostly from Germany, and they belong to 2 religious groups called the Amish and the Mennonites. They have different degrees of strictness, but the really religious don't use any machinery like cars or tractors or any electrical things either. Really strict folks of their groups dont even use buttons or zippers but rely on pins! They use horses and carriages to get around, and horses for plowing and other chores on the farms, so we see this really often.
