We can definitely influence life around us; and if thoughtfully applied, with desireable consequences for ourselves. That's what Project Managers do, they "assure" (make happen) an "outcome" (result) occurs regardless of the variations in their professional environment (office politics, vendor support, money available, ...). Within their perceived professional Reality, they construct a desired environment from which a desired outcome will reasonably grow.

The human's comprehension of reality is changing with scientific progress, so if, like you have said "there are no absolute proofs" - who can say we realy know what that reality is about?

I presently believe that we can use the relationships that we can recognize to do something useful. Reality in whatever is truely real, can at best be only "partially" (in part) "perceived" (considered before acting) by us. So we can only work with certain relationships we can understand with our simple minds. But with these relationship tools we can influence our own life and the lives of everything in the future. Just because we don't understand how electricity works, doesn't mean we can not flip a switch to turn on a light, or the computer we are using. Truely understanding Reality does not prevent us from making money, loving others, ... we are just extremely limited because we don't understand reality, nor may we at any point in our lives, since the "extents" (limits) of our lives is not known.

I don't believe we have the capability of knowing what an absolute truth is. Our minds are too simple and our ability to perceive the Universe in all its complexity is currently beyond any person's capability. Therefore the concept of an absolute truth is not particularly useful except in supporting superstition.

The equivalent of "Superstition" is used often in science to make shortcut calculations. Scientists and Engineers are very comfortable using the concepts of "a system of Assumptions". They take on Faith that certain assumptions are true (truth in science is more accurately defined as 'usefully repeatable') so that research can begin without knowing Everything first. So Faith and Superstition are useful tools in Science to begin the Search.

But whenever an assumption is considered that does not have the ability to be proven false, a scientist will push that concept aside until some valid test(s) for being false can be conceived. There can be no potential for truth if the system of that truth does not provide a method of being proven false. So scientists use Assumptions that have been successfully used previously as a basis for research. But just because something is not disprovable, does not mean the concept is without productive use. Consider the many billion dollars made every year by religious leaders. The concepts are not disprovable, but they are successful in using the relationships regardless. So Perceived Reality is as useful a relationship for doing certain things (like making money) as is Actual Reality. But understanding Actual Reality would ultimately provide us with much more general and broad benefits.

Consider the Universe and knowing the Universe is much older than the Earth; and that many billions of other planets like Earth currently exist, and many trillions of planets like Earth have been born, lived, and extinguished long before the Earth was born. So with some certainty, we know we are not alone in the Universe. We can't see, touch, or taste it; but to some degree we can feel it. Science is taking a leap of faith in exploring the depths of space that other life exists. How many billions of dollars have been spent (promoting our economy) in the search for information outside of the Earth? We have discovered many things, including how to change things on Earth that we had not previously considered. Many of the products we have today came from space-based research.

Our perceived reality is based upon the relationships we successfully manipulate.

Scientists often take a leap of faith in considering a new direction of research; but they follow up their assumptions with measureable results. This is the basic problem with understanding Reality; we can not currently perceive or understand the complexities of even the simplest observation (result).

But, we can use what we do perceive and successfully manipulate the environment around us into our pre-conceived desires.

With understanding the relationships of our perceived reality, we can increase the probability of a desired outcome.

Here is a formal way of relating the Qualities of a Desired Outcome (result) with the Steps we propose to take.

I do not remember the context in which I wrote the quote.

But I will guess that I was referring to how we tend to think of ourselves as the center of the Universe. We tend to think of our skin as a solid, as a "physical form" (basic component of our perceptions) that in itself defines a basic form of matter. We have long known we are composed of complex energy relationships; nothing solid at all. Particles pass through our bodies every day without us even being aware.

In the presently accepted scientific reality, people are "beings" (one of many forms of life) composed of "energies" (non-solid components), we are formless. We only appear to have a form because of our limited perceptions.

Heat from our bodies, gravity waves that we produce, electro-magnetic waves from our nervous system, our minds instances of "quantum entanglement" (two or more particles coupled instantaneously without reference to distance), permeate out into space without us having any concept of how we are interacting with the Universe from one moment to the next. We are "formless" (without any real boundaries to define our influence) because we have no boundaries in our influence; only perceived boundaries. We are formless because we can not realistically define the edges of our form.

We are very "simplistic" (built in the form of being simple) beings; we have a "simplistic makeup" (being so simple that we are unable to ethically participate with nature to promote bio-diversity). We are incapable of individually dealing with the complex relationships that actually exist in nature. Therefore we are not able to interact with nature in the "symbiotic" (ethical give and take relationship) way in which life exists in nature; we have already killed over 1/2 of all the known species of life in the past 200 years. We are not part of life, we are presently part of death. To be a valid part of life a being must be part of the "ecology" (balance of "bio-diversity" (complex living systems that contribute mutually to support one another)).

Because of our limitations in being able to think and relate to the Universe around us, we live in a "continuum" (identifiable space limited by certain relationships) of relationships based in superstition. Even in science, every fact that is generated is logical within our understanding, but is superstition because it is "enveloped" (packaged) within things we yet do not know about. Every newly generated relationship continuously generates new restrictions for all previously discovered relationships.

"Nothing travels faster than the speed of light"; yet explain "Quantum Entanglement" or the abberation of gravity; both appear to have testable properties that propogate instantaneously. So we must put further restrictions on the speed of light so that other related relationships are still predictable.

You can look up "Unified Field Theory" (concept that all interactions in the Universe are predictable) to see how complex the relationships in science can become.

Every property that we observe is a "confluence" (product of all known relationships that generates an observable "anomaly" (unique presentation)) where everything in the Universe combines together to force that condition to be true. It does not matter if we understand all the relationships or not, or that we can even sense the confluence. A confluence simply occurs because it must.

Fill a jar full of water, drop it off a building onto a concrete surface. The result happens because it must.

We are simplistic and formless because we can not perceive the "extents" (final limits) of what we touch.

There is only one truth that I know of, everything else is conjecture. The one truth is that "something exists", but we can not know for sure of any other truth.

For instance: We are attempting to build infinite computation computers and infinite memory for such a computer. The advent of "Quantum Entanglement" potentially allows for such devices.

An infinite computation computer could replace every computer in the world, with infinite amounts of computer computation left over. This means that every atom in our perceived existence could be part of a computer model. Our life's existence being virtual with only perceived limitations setup by the computer system ("The Matrix" characterizes such an example).

However, because it is an infinite computation computer, an infinite number of other alternative virtual realities could concurrently exist. Further entire civilizations and Universes would be born, exist, and die out in an instant in time. Time would have no function in such a reality. Perceived time based upon event transitions would establish percieved time within our world; not time itself.

An infinite number of Universes, spawning, existing and extinguishing in the exact same moment the computer is turned on.

There is likely no practical way we could know if we are part of such a system, unless there are anomalies that consistently support such a conjecture. So everything that we perceive to be truths only exist in our confined environment.

However, to blindly say that there are no known truths is not of much value either. Other than persistently having an open mind. But evaluating the "potential for truth" means that we are looking for a relationship. We percieve our environment as systems of relationships.

Close your eyes; and think of only a smooth red ball. As simple as that is, everything you think of is going to be a contrasting relationship based upon past perceptions. There is only one absolute that is always present, something exists. Every other piece of information we identify with the red ball is based upon comparisons, Every comparison is a relationship.

Red is more or less rich in color, more orange, or more black. Bigger or smaller than.... We can not, nor should we, see anything as an absolutely unique entity. Through evaluating the relationships that identify an entity we can describe it in thousands of different ways; the combination gives it uniqueness to us, but also allows us to interact with it with "some" developed understanding.

By simply placing a drop of water in your hand you can discover hundreds of different characteristics of water (surface tension, evaporation, cooling, humidity, ...) and the same can be true of everything else we perceive.

This is conjecture, it is not in any form factual. It could be, but there is no reasonable proof.

Proof is like Truth, there are no absolute proofs. The best we can hope for is Reasonable Proof, or Reasonable Truth. However, to be Reasonable we MUST accept that we can be wrong because of ANYTHING we may not have considered or known about.

This is why I am against Capital Punishment (killing criminals); when a percieved criminal is put to death, all links to other related criminals is lost. So justice may only partially and ineptly be served. Also, at least 20 prisoners on death-row in the US are found to be innocent every year here in the United States. How many innocent people have been unjustly put to death?

Anyway, back to Truth. Absolute Truth is ficticious except in one regard. But Reasonable Truth provides us with tools for predicting the consequences of proposed actions. The only useful thing about a Reasonable Truth are the Relationships that allow us to predict outcomes.

"Particle Physics" is NOT about nuclear particles; it is about "Particles of Information". A nuclear particle is a collection of information about a system of relationships that lead consistently to an observable outcome. As such, there are no REAL particles considered, because from different perspectives they deviate from the anticipated outcome.

Each particle described in nuclear/particle physics is to satisfy our own limited minds for calculating the probability that an outcome will occur. Therefore physics is not based upon reality, it is based upon our perceptions. Very useful, predictable, and profitable, ...but not absolute.

Like you said - there is no Absolute true. I prefer to think poeple are not able to perceive it, I'm a bit afraid of relativity.
Why do you think "Absolute Truth" is a concept created by mankind, to justify a lazy mind."? I'm not so sure about that. If I can to dispute or even to deny my own exist, has my life any significance? Has my death any meaning ? What about ethics? Is good and evil exists in a ''Reasonable Truth's world''? I agree ''We percieve our environment as systems of relationships" but are you sure the result from that is all rest what we need for our human being?

My definition of truth: A system of relationships that consistently result in a completely predictable outcome regardless of any and all deviations in any and all environments; whether known or not considered.

My definition of exist: Any anomaly that deviates from the characteristics of an absolute void.

I believe within a confined environment, we can modify the environment such that a truth must be present.

The concept is that a truth will always be present in a specifically controlled environment. Something like driving along a hilly road and letting go of the steering wheel. If the road is shaped and the car speed is controlled, the car may stay on the road for a long distance. But if the environment is contorted, the car will leave the road very quickly. if the truth is a system of relationships than where is the truth is a statement ''the Entity exist'' ; or ''I am a woman'' i can't see any relations with the truth statement that ''i'm a woman '', or ''that what you see are my words to you''? ;
The Entity is truth when exist, so the truth is identity with reality; to understand what the true is we must first to know what is a cognition. I can say that cognition is a saurce of thruthfullness relationships (relations) - the cognition can to be a judgement or crystallization of opinion; the problems is what is criterion of truthfullness cognition and what is our perceptive faculty, becouse all what we know is not all what is the truth, we are not able to get knowledge of all reality; the truth can only to be or not to be but who can say ''i know the absolute truth"?

There is only one truth: "something exists". Everything else seems to be true only under certain conditions. So is we can not control the truth, maybe we can control the supporting conditions.
