This blog is written in response to sum girl who wrote a blog critising the fashion that has built up around the emo culture. Sadly i cant seem 2 find it n refer back to it but i agree with her main point. We unofficially agree that the modern emo cult has bin blown outta proportion. Emo originally started out as a version of punk with charged emotion in it, which is where the emo comes from emotionally charged rock. It was not created to b a different genre of rock at all, well not originally anyway. Revived in the 90's as punk with emotion in it n not as a seperate sub genre of it. Only recently, has emo bin classified as a sub genre. and merchendise manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon and produced the emo clothes line, even if very few of the bands actually wear this shit. And very few of these bands actually openly sing bout suicide n self harm (why practise self harm anyway, can sum1 explain that 2 me y do it). Emo culture is jus a pointless fad seen as a oppotunity for money makin by merchendise people n has little to do with the actually scene it self.
