First day in Belgium, I got one advice, Belgian people don't impress with Vietnamese, especially, from girl. I don't know why? I have many friends from difference countries, but I think my friends respect me and easy to get friend with me. And I am finding the answer, why Vietnamese can be isolated by foreigners in here. I do not see any Vietnamese student here has boy or girl friend from another country. It is unusual! I think this is a evident for the isolation of Vietnamese.
Yesterday, I have joined Buddy party with many friend from many countries, we enjoyed and I made friend with more than 10 Belgian friends. They are really friendship! And they asked me that: "Why the student in your country did not join in this event? This is open for all people, and we welcome as more as possible. It is organized for you, new comers!"
I am only Vietnamese in this event, there are so many people from another countries. And I don't know how to answer them! I really impress with Chinese students, they almost are girls but they join and fall in line with this event naturally.
Why we always absent in such type of event? Why our neighboring countries students can join it? I see some Indonesian, Philippians. Why not us?
I think this is our problem! If we don't go out and live as a Belgian student, how can we made friend and other relationships with them? We are closing our live, nothing more than study and side work. We closed all our change to get friend in here. What is the pity?
My teacher, who advices me to go to Europe, said me that: don't go to Japan, Korea, let go to Europe, You not only study, you have to LIVE and enjoy your LIFE. STUDYING and ENJOYING LIFE should be balanced!
I hope I can LIVE here, I will try to live as a Belgian student. I read the book name : "the perfect spy", this book wrote about a most successful Vietnamese spy in Vietnam War. One line of this book about one major factor of success spy: "If you want to understand the American, you have to live as an American"! And this spy had done it and he become a best friend of many Americans, understand them and know what will the US do in next period of war, because that his report become one of most valuable report for North Vietnam and it perfectly used in that war.
What can we do? LIVE!!!
