About me
Hi my name is Cleonie, I am a proud Maljangapa woman and for those visiting my profile, who may query what is a Maljangapa woman, that is my tribe. I am an Indigenous Australian, native born to this beautiful brown land and my totem is the Dingo.
I am on this site to seek friendships only, and yes, I have come across some amazing people here. People from many different cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and views, and I even found my cousin here, "hi cuz".http://en.netlog.com/freakofnature172000
And I guess that's the beauty of technology, you can reach out and make new friends, learn and communicate without leaving the comfort of your home.

Aboriginal people in the past and some tribes today practised and practise initiation. The initiation process encouraged young people to learn about themselves and others through experience. Young people were helped to understand themselves - their weaknesses and strengths and to confront their 'demon'. Through the things they experienced and achieved, often in extremely difficult circumstances, they were able to accept and respect themselves.
This learning enabled them to fulfill their responsibilities within the family and the community in a selfless, non-egotistical way. They did not need to be stronger, more powerful, a better speaker, a better provider etc. They had to learn to respect themselves for being exactly who they were.
