I am Cookie, a medical college student.
I have a part-time job in a Art Center now.
They present museum quality limited edition giclee prints by internationally acclaimed artists.
The term "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
Giclee printers use archival inks which make the archival properties of Giclee much higher than lithography or silkscreen prints. Special inks we use in our printers have a light fastness rating up to 200 years. In most cases, Giclee are going to last longer then oil, acrylic, and other medium originals. Visually, giclees are also sometimes better then originals.
