I am looking for support to prove to Netlog that the everyday user would like their old messaging system back. Hopefully if enough of you join this clan to show your feelings on the subject they will be forced to act. more than the old type of info websites that first existed places such as Netlog are very much at risk if they upset their user base. This is because it is us the user who makes Netlog what it is.

Netlog exists purely because we the users provide the content. Netlog provides the network and the framework for the website but it is users like you and me who write blogs, make or join clans, upload videos or pictures, and message other users on the system. this is all part of what many call web 2.0 were the users partake in the structure of the site by uploading as much as they download.

Web 2.0 refers to a perceived second generation of web-based communities and hosted services — such as social-networking sites, wikis, and folksonomies — which aim to facilitate creativity, collaboration, and sharing between users. Stephen Fry puts it very well when he describes it as "an idea in people's heads rather than a reality. It’s actually an idea that the reciprocity between the user and the provider is what's emphasized. In other words, genuine interactivity, if you like, simply because people can upload as well as download".

Therefore in a way Netlog is as much our site as the administrators as it is us who have put the flesh and blood on the bare bones they have provided.
