The beginning of the year I was very positive, and have tried very hard to remain so, but with the daily bombardment of bad news for the Real Estate industry it gets a little tougher to know exactly what to expect from the months ahead. My crystal ball is looking a little cloudy!!


In the good old days we used to worry about getting listing appointments and home inspections, writing contracts and scheduling closings, basically it was pretty easy to keep our clients happy and provide a great service, I was fortunate to have started my real estate career 10 years ago in the peak of the housing market. I lived and worked in the fastest growing county in the USA and never had a listing expire. hey, remember that old chestnut "All they do is stick a sign in the yard and a lockbox on the door"

Well guess again, now we are blogging like mad and trying all sorts of new avenues to try to make a sale. We are baffled by the daily news and keeping up with supporting our clients moral.

Oh boy, those were the days. I try very hard to make sense of the news and to imagine what lays ahead, what a mess it all is and will it ever be the same again. It seems to me it is spiraling out of control and I hope this massive bailout will stabilize the market and renew consumer confidence. But it does occur to me that with the instability currently in the stock market that real estate has to be about the safest investment currently, if you have the money, and lots of foreign buyers do, then what an opportune moment to buy real estate and make some money a few years down the line when the housing market turns around, which we all know it will eventually do.
