A kindergarten teacher decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates.

So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week.

Day after day passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags.

After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended. The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?" The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.

Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime???"

Moral of the story: Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a life time. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take, forgive others like you would like yourself to be forgiven for your mistakes and misgivings.

Not long ago, three friends came to the New York city . They decided tostay in a hotel during the visit. It so happened that their room ended up being on the 60th floor. The policy of the hotel was that everynight after 12:00 a.m. the elevators are shut down for securityreasons.

The next day, the three friends rented a car and went out to explore the city. They enjoyed movies, concerts, and other things throughout the whole day. At one point, they remembered that they have to get back to the hotel before 12 a.m.

When they arrived, it was beyond 12 a.m. at night. The elevators were shut down. There was no other way to get back to their room but to take the stairs all the way to the 60th floor. All of a sudden, one friend got an idea.

He said "For the first 20 floors, I will tell jokes to keep us going. Then another one of us could say wisdom stories for the next 20 floors. Finally, we will cover the other 20 floors with sad stories."

So, one of the friends started with the jokes. With laughs and joy, they reached the 20th floor. Now, another friend started saying stories that are full of wisdom. So, they learned a lot while reaching the 40th floor. Now, it was time for the sad stories.

So, the third friend started thus, "My first sad story is that I left the key for the room in the car."Now, what is the point of this story?

This story resembles our lifecycle. For the first 20 years of our life, we spend time in joking and enjoying whatever is out there. Then, after we reach 20, we go into the work force, get marriead, have kids and this is the time when we use our wisdom. Then, if we reach 40, we finally see the white hairs and begin to think that my life is coming to an end and the sadness begins.

It's better that we start our life in the very beginning by remembering death rather than preparing for it at the end our life when very few of us have the energy to obey Allah completely. We should also remember that there is no guarantee of a life of 60 years for any of us, many have already left this world way before that age.

May Allah give us the ability to make use of our life before death and our youth before old age, Ameen.

  • Avoid to saying "Allah how could you do this to me

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island...

He prayed feverishly for Allah to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger.

"Allah, how could you do this to me!" he cried.
(Comment; Plenty of people use such statement --- think again you should never question Allah nor object to His willing)

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him.

"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers.

"We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because Allah is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering.

Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground--it just may be a smoke signal that summons The Grace of Allah.

  • Young Boy

There was a young man, who got to know about a precious stone. He decided not to come back to his house till he finds the stone. So he left his house with a little provision. He sat down to sketch a map on a notebook. He had a very long route to cover, but he stuck to his ambition and had very high hopes.

He believed that if he found the stone he would not have to work anymore and would become the wealthiest person. All his worries and problems would be finished. Everyone would respect him. Ultimately he would become a successful man.

He traveled through many countries, cities, towns, jungles, and mountains in search of the stone for forty years.

At last while he was passing by an ancient mine he found the stone underneath a heavy rock but by then he had become very old and frail looking person.

Holding the stone tightly in his fist, he started jumping with great joy and happiness. Suddenly he saw a young boy sitting by the stream, reciting the Quraan-e-Kareem in a beautiful tone.

The boy's penetrating words of the Quraan-e-Hakeem struck the man's heart. It seemed that trees, birds, water all were listening to his Quraan.

He thought to himself that he had become too old and weak, so why not give the stone this young man.

The man came up to the boy and said, young man, may I have your attention please. I have traveled through many countries, Cities, towns, jungles and mountains in search of this precious stone for forty long ho years. Now I have found it, but I have become very weak and old. I want you to have it because you seem to be pious and have long life ahead of you."

"What would I do with it?" The boy asked suspiciously.

"Oh..., you would be the most successful, happiest and wealthiest person in the world", laughed the man as he stretched out his hands.

"But I have found the Creator of t his stone as well as all the stones of the entire universe," said the boy confidently.

"Allah Ta'ala has all the treasures of success, happiness, peace, respect and sustenance. Allah Ta'ala has got power over every thing." smiled the young boy as he raised his index finger to the sky, as the little boy continued, "If you had given even a little time toyour Creator. Everything would have become yours."

The man broke into tears and the boy's words sank into his heart. He repented and threw the stone and served rest of his life to become the friend of Allah Ta'ala.

    Lesson:

Look, children..! Even the young ones can become the means of guidance for the Elders if they are on the right path.

If the stone had impressed the boy, do you think that the old man would have got guidance (Hidayat)?

  • Think like this child

Once a boy went to a shop with his mother.

The shop keeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets and said 'Dear Child...you can take some of these sweets...

but the child didnt take them. The shop keeper was surprised, such a small child he is
and why is he not taking the sweets from the bottle. Again he said take the sweets...
this time the mother also heard that and said... beta take the sweets.

Yet he still didnt take any...

The shopkeeper seeing the child not taking the sweets... he himself took the sweets and gave to them to the child... the child was happy to get two hands full of sweets.

When they returned back home, Mother asked the child... Why didnt you take the sweets... when shop keeper told you to take...

    Can you guess the response:-

Child replies... Mom! my hands are very small and if i take the sweets I can only take a few.. but now you see when the kind shop keeper gave with his big hands...

how many more sweets i got!

    Moral:
When we take we may get little but when God gives...
HE gives us more, beyond our expectations.... more than what we can hold..........

  • My Hands

An old man, probably some ninety plus years, sat feebly on the park bench. He didn't move, just sat with his head down staring at his hands. When I sat down beside him he didn't acknowledge my presence and the longer I sat I wondered if he was ok.

Finally, not really wanting to disturb him but wanting to check on him at the same time, I asked him if he was ok. He raised his head and looked at me and smiled. Yes, I'm fine, thank you for asking, he said in a clear strong voice. I didn't mean to disturb you .....but you were just sitting here staring at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were ok I explained to him. Have you ever looked at your hands he asked. I mean really looked at your hands? I slowly opened my hands and stared down at them. I turned them over, palms up and then palms down. No, I guess I had never really looked at my hands as I tried to figure out the point he was making.

Then he smiled and related this story: Stop and think for a moment about the hands you have, how they have served you well throughout your years. These hands, though wrinkled, shriveled and weak have been the tools I have used all my life to reach out and grab and embrace life. They braced and caught my fall when as a toddler I crashed upon the floor. They put food in my mouth and clothes on my back. As a child my mother taught me to hold them in prayer. They tied my shoes and pulled on my boots. They dried the tears of my children and caressed the love of my life. They have been dirty, scraped and raw, swollen and bent. They were uneasy and clumsy when I tried to hold my newborn son. They wrote the letters home and trembled and shook when I buried my parents and spouse. Yet, they were strong and sure when I dug my friend out of a foxhole and lifted a plow off of my best friends foot. They have held children, consoled neighbors, and shook in fists of anger when I didn't understand. They have covered my face, combed my hair, and washed and cleansed the rest of my body. They have been sticky and wet, bent and broken, dried and raw. And to this day when not much of anything else of me works real well these hands hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to open in prayer. These hands are the mark of where I've been and the ruggedness of my life. But more importantly it will be these hands that will receive, The Book of deeds. I look, ponder and pray that MY RIGHT HAND is blessed the fortune of receiving the trials of this life ie. MY BOOK OF DEEDS with this RIGHT HAND.

No doubt I will never look at my hands the same again. I never saw the old man again after I left the park that day but I will never forget him and the words he spoke. When my hands are hurt or sore or when I stroke the face of my children and wife I think of the man in the park.
I, too, want to RECEIVE MY BOOK OF DEEDS WITH MY RIGHT HAND----I am trying to be worthy of it by preparing for it now........
O MY PERFECT AND GENEROUS ALLAH ! I make shukr for these hands.

  • Read it carefully and deeply‏

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

  • LOVE for wealth

A person once came to Nabi Eesaa Alaihis Salaam and requested that he be allowed to stay in his company. Eesa Alaihis Salaam agreed. One day they went out on a journey. While travelling they reached a bank of a river. They sat down to have their meal, which consisted of three pieces of bread. Each ate a piece and one was left over. Eesaa Alaihis Salaam left his companion and went to the river to have a drink of water. When he returned he found the third piece of bread missing.
He asked his companion: "Who took the bread?"

The companion replied: "I do not know." They continued on the journey.

A while later they saw a gazelle with its two babies. Eesa Alaihis Salaam called one of the babies and it came to him. He slaughtered it and cooked its meat. They both ate from the meat. Nabi Eesa Alaihis Salaam then
instructed the animal that they had just eaten to rise with the permission of Allah. It came back to life and went away.

Eesa Alaihis Salaam now addressed his companion: "In the name of that being who has shown you this sign please tell me who took the bread?"

Again the companion replied: "I do not know."

They continued on their journey until they came to a river. Eesa Alaihis Salaam took his companion's hand and walked over the surface of the water.

When they had crossed the river Eesa Alahis Salaam again asked : "In the name of that being who has shown you this sign please tell me who took the bread?"

But the companion again replied : "I do not know."

They continued walking until they came to an open piece of land, where they sat down. Eesa Alahis Salaam took some sand in his hand and instructed it :
"Turn into gold, with the permission of Allah." Immediately it turned into pieces of gold. He then split it into three portions saying : "A third will be mine, a third yours and the remaining third will go to the person who took the bread." Quickly the companion replied : "I took the bread!"

Eesa Alaihis Salaam gave all the gold to him and left. As the man sat with the gold, two robbers attacked him and attempted to steal the gold from him. He convinced them not to kill him and they finally agreed to split the gold three ways. As they were hungry the companion suggested that one of the robbers should go into the city and buy some food. One of the robbers agreed.

On his way to the city a thought came to him : "Why should I give any gold to the other two? I will mix some poison in the food and kill both of them. All the gold will then be mine."

Meanwhile the other two were also conspiring: "Why should we give our shares to him? When he comes we will kill him and split the gold between the two of us."

When the man returned they killed him. The two then ate the food that had been mixed with poison and also fell down dead.

Eesa Alaihis Salaam again passed by and saw the gold and the three men lying dead around it and said to his companions: "This is what this world does to people. Be careful of the world!"

    Lessons
