An Explanation for My Absence

Those of you who know me or followed my blogs may remember that early last November my then husband assaulted me and was arrested for it. The divorce isn't final yet but his abusive behavior hasn't stopped. Shortly after he was again permitted by the courts to speak with me again, he let me know he'd created a Netlog ID and was watching what I do on here. He has also vowed that he will do everything he can to make my life as miserable as he can because he had to spend the night in jail. I've been told by experts that it's common behavior for abusers to blame everyone but themselves for what happened. That's easier than taking responsibility for their behavior.

For that reason, I haven't felt comfortable being active here. I still log on a few times a week to check for messages and to chat with one good friend who can't chat elsewhere. I apologize to those of you that I've neglected. If you'd like my yahoo or MSN id's so we can chat, send me a pm and I'll give them to you as well as my email address. A few of you have found where I'm hanging out these days. Please don't give that information to anyone you don't know well or who isn't in my friends list! Thanks!

He's not allowing comments in his profile without his approval. I reported him and pointed out in detail what was scammerish in his PM. He's also not allowing private messages to be sent to him from his profile. I don't know if replying to his pm would work. Probably. I did send him a message by posting a comment telling him he's not welcome here and we're watching him, and also that I'd be posting in my blog and the clan blog about him so just keeping us from commenting on his profile wasn't going to stop us. We'll beat these scumbags yet!!!!

Well, it's happened. I shouldn't have deleted it but I wasn't thinking at the time because I was laughing so hard!!!! A scammer posted a comment in my guestbook accusing me of being a scammer!!! And stretched out SCAMMMMMMMERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! so I know he's been accused by me before!!! Most likely in the guestbook and photo comments of his original "lovelyjames" id!!

I've given links to both profiles he has created so humbly with lovelyjames in the nickname. They are very similar although not identical!!! The photo he's using may be of a good looking man but rest assured, that photo is NOT of him! lol

He also sent me a private message:

The private message from this guy was posted in the ScammerAlert blog. I'm pasting it here so it can be spotlighted and we can warn more people.

This is a well known scam tactic. They get the bank info of the greedy person who falls for their BS and then empty their account. Netlog is usually very fast to block these guys. I reported this an hour ago and the last I checked it was still an active account.

When we came back from the states, he was lucky enough to get some of his late father legacy which he inherited as the first son and the estate is indeed worth big money, he had no other choice than to dispose the estate based on his own initiative that he want to set up, now the money he had with him and the one he got from his inheritance increased.

Then after some time my late Dad started to look for properties to buy to use for an office, in several occasions I went out with him to inspect some properties. But unfortunately on the 22nd of February 2006 my father collapse and later died.

Why am I telling you, a total stranger you may ask!!! The reason why I am revealing to you my family\'s secret is because my late Dad\'s final burial as Africa culture to a wealthy man is over and my uncle is searching every where looking for my late father bank documents that my dad used in depositing all his money when his sickness became serious.

Yay!!!!!! We finally got rid of some! Just tonight I blacklisted and reported both of these scammers whose links are below. The first one was blocked almost immediately by Netlog. The second was blocked so quickly that I didn't even have time to finish my blog entry about him!!!!!

Three cheers to everyone for their efforts, both in the clan and anyone else who has also been warning and reporting scammers. Cudos also to Netlog for doing their part!!!!!!

Define Wife Beater

What defines the term wife beater? I was told tonight by my soon to be ex-husband that I've been spouting bullsh*t in my blog making him out to be a wife beater. That's his term, not mine. I never used it. I did state the fact that he had attacked me, something he has admitted to me that he was wrong to do, although he didn't apologize. I did state truthfully that he was arrested and charged with assault.

Alexander seems to mind being characterized as being a wife beater and feels it's unfair. I thought I'd explore that and maybe get some opinions on it. He said I made it out like he beat me up. I'm assuming he means that he used his fists on me. He never punched me although he came damn close. He did shove me across the room and then propelled me so hard against the stairs that I was thrown forcefully into them and against the end of the railing and ended up laying on the floor at the foot of the stairs. This was repeated again and again to varying degrees. Sometimes he slammed me into the wall, sometimes he knocked me onto the floor, at least once he threw me against the corner of the wall. He finally got himself under control when he was holding me down on the basement floor with his fist raised to punch me in the face. Oh, he wanted to! I could see him struggling with himself before reason won out. He finally lowered his fist and let me get up without coming at me again.

BTW, this all began because he started dismantling my computer while I was using it. He wanted to get a file of a photo I had of him. Instead of asking me to delete it, instead of telling me what he was doing, he just bullied his way into my computer and pushed me out of the way when I tried to get between him and the computer case. After the attack ended he removed my hard drive and then finally told me why, that he wanted the photo. I told him to return the hard drive to my case and I would show him where the file was and he could delete it and be done with it. I held up my end of that bargain and showed him where the file was and he did delete it. Then he began going through the folders and deleting other things despite me saying not to. He didn't care. He wasn't finished with his assault yet. Now he was committing intellectual assault and destroying files and property that he had no right to.

I've posted photos that were taken of some of my bruises and scrapes, etc., in my profile if you care to see them: http://en.netlog.com/TheRoseHeart but they aren't very clear. The monitor casts too much light and washes out the colors in my webcam. I'll let you be the judge. Is violence against a woman only violence if it happens repeatedly? Is it only wife beating if he beat me up with his fists? Are my nightmares and anxiety attacks and fear of him since the attack all a figment of my imagination? Or, as he says, a sign that I'm crazy? I talked to a psychologist about that very thing on Thursday of last week. I asked her what I could do to stop this irrational fear of him even when I know he's supposedly out of state. She told me that it's not an irrational fear, it's a perfectly understandable fear.

He blames my friend who called the police for him being arrested. He wanted to press charges or sue him, I'm not sure which because his rant about that wasn't clear, but his lawyer told him he had no grounds. He blames me for his arrest because the police wrote in the report that I was afraid of him and I signed it. I *was* afraid of him! I still *am* afraid of him! I know now what he's capable of! Most of all, I am afraid of him because he's in denial and doesn't accept his responsibility for his actions. If he thinks he did nothing wrong, if he thinks he was justified, then it could happen again. I won't be anywhere near him when it does!

He was telling me about his night in jail and about after his arraignment when they released him, what his life has been like since he was arrested. He's never asked how I am. He wants me to feel sorry for what he's been through. I do wish he hadn't gone through it. I do wish he'd gotten REAL help for his anger issues instead of talking to a social worker. I do wish he hadn't attacked me. But only HE could have prevented it. I had no power to do that. All I ever did was accept him for who he was and love him. Not anymore.
