Newsletter Jan 2008

Dear Friends...

I am going to start a monthly newsletter regarding what is happening in my life, so I can reach many of you even if I cannot correspond frequently on an individual basis. I love my friends & do not want to lose any of you as I work with Lee on building our business this year. Some of you have my phone number & I HOPE you will use it often enough, especially if it has been a while since I said "Hi" to you online. As before.. leave me messages or IM's on AOL or Yahoo. I'd love to hear back from you if it's been too long since our last contact. Tell me what is going on with YOU!

In due time, I know I will have more time on here. Later, Lee & I plan to travel more & hopefully meet or enjoy reunions with old friends.

I will be able to view some "cutsie emails" occasionally "& I will try to answer any "letter" emails, but I will only have a few hours, once or twice a week for personal time on the internet, at least for next few months.

Wish me luck with all this please or even better, say a prayer for us.

Sandy & Lee

Only the good die young??

Most of you who are even listed as my friends do not know this about me...

I raised 4 children I had with my ex husband. We had 3 boys & a girl to bring up the rear. Karen was born on this day 25 yr ago. She was my baby and my best friend. She died a month after her 19th birthday. Her death was caused by an overdose of Heroin. No, she was not an addict, & no, she did not have a horrible family life. However, being a teenager, she mistakenly thought she could "try" something her best friend did all the time & everything would be ok. She was wrong.. dead wrong.

I tell others about her in the hopes one life might be spared the chaos of drugs & what pain they CAN cause other people. She was good friends with the school nurse & Mrs Messer uses Karen as an example to the "good" kids of how dangerous drugs can be & how it is not Only "druggies" who die.

I invite any who read this to open their mouth & theri eyes & their hearts. Share my tragedy & maybe save a life. If you would like to know more of my story, here is the web address of the MySpace account I made for my daughter.

<a href="http://en.netlog.com/go/out/url=http%3A%2F%2Fprofile.myspace.com%2Findex.cfm%3Ffuseaction%3Duser.viewprofile%26amp%3Bfriendid%3D145021280%26amp%3BMyToken%3Dd8085e71-c78d-41cb-88cc-21f1a1ffe1eb"target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=145021280&MyToken=d8085e71-c78d-41cb-88cc-21f1a1ffe1eb

I believe Karen's spirit watches over me in my daily life & I live for both of us now. I love you baby!! XO mom~

Poem - Her Name Is ... Wind

Her Name Is ... Wind

A brutal lady to be reckoned with,
as she beckons to all things
not securely anchored or tethered to the ground.

A Hussy to push you off your mark,
or pull away your pride
while tearing at your garments.
Dare you think you are BETTER??

She has a job to do... this invisible agent of nature.
At times, she tickles at our skin
chilling us so deeply we shiver,
then again, bathing us in balmy warmth.

In her wilder moments, she convulses,
moving the clouds in heaven above.
Her Loaded arms carry the rains & the snows
to their new destination.

As her Wrath and Anger build,
she unleashes her children,
Tornado, Hurricane, Typhoon
upon the surface of the Earth.

Then, the calm returns.
The trees sigh in silence
where they are permitted to remain,
so glad to see the end of her Rage.
Peace... quiet... all is settled
as this great Lady sleeps once more.

Sandy Schultz
copyright - Mar 2, 2007

Here Comes WINTER... That Old Man

Now the time is of crisp and cool
when things dry up brutally as a rule.
Dressing in layers has become the tool
to protect each person if they are Not a fool.

Wind, often strong, blowing and tearing
at our bodies and homes, we still are preparing.
Bringing things in, at plastic we are staring
as we fight to keep safe and warm, not daring.

All this time, we played & ran
knowing that soon, we must think & plan.
we hurry to wind up events if we can
For here comes WINTER, that old man.

Sandra H Schultz 11-13-2005

I KNOW it is Past the time this SHOULD have been Posted.. but I hope you enjoy it anyhow.

Sandy~

REMEMORIES!!

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often or if you are a random reader) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you...
Should be interesting....

So tell me what you don't remember about me.

Each day we are given a blank page.
We begin to write on it the minute we wake.
Do we fill our minds with limit less possibilities,
Or with worry from the start?

I wake to my granddaughter most days.
She is a joy to my soul & focus for my mind.
She helps me to know what is important.
She puts a SMILE in my Heart!

When you rise you should have a plan.
To be idle, with no "design in mind
Will let you waste this precious gift.
It should be a work of art!

Put effort in & get rewarded as well
Strive to be better about how you are.
Give of yourself to someone if you can.
Making a difference, is what would be smart!

Then, when you are old & grey
Not able to do all these things
You will have memories to keep you company
For now you have become "The Old Fart!"

SHBS Copyright Feb 2007

Morale: START your ART with HEART & you can become a SMART old FART!

Dance of Life

Dance of Life

Hunters both, strong & cunning in each their own way
Hunger dictates who has more drive
Who is weaker and will not survive.

One is master of the air, the other covers much ground,
Both powerful beings in their own right.
Now, to their death they do fight.

Swoop, down from the sky, the eagle will fly
To gain speed, attack, then carry away
The less fortunate wolf, who dies today.

Think of it, if you will as a dance of life
Where motions are like a choreographers dream.
In sync, perfect rhythm and timing, it would seem.

SHBS copyright Jan 19, 2007
