Alhamdulillah. Praise be to Allah, with HIS blessings the book of Melaka Botanical Garden is published. This is a very impressive achievement that I did through out this year. Writing this book brough my mind through a huge imagination and plays with images, emotions and creativity.

“Get out of the office, out of the house, out of the comfort zone and out to where real people lived real lives in the real world. Get them talking and listen to them, taking notes.” – quoted from Rehman Rashid’s Column in the NST, July 25 2007.

Being a good journalist, one should have that kind of attitude as stated above. I agreed with the columnist. Reporter should get out of the office and see things in a very different way. Everyone in the world is importance and you can create story based on anything that you saw along the way to your office or back home, in the train, or inside the mamak’s restaurant or even when cat and dog get together in the street. So much story you can create except only reporter who creative and had the ability, will deliver a magnificent story. If one can use this method, your story can be readable not only today but tomorrow and the day after. No limitation of time cause it is priceless.

Timeliness, proximity, prominence, consequence & human interest are the criteria that a reporter should have when writing a story. How to pursue reader is up to the story that you wrote.

Journalists in any part of this world could not possibly cover all the events in the world on a given day. Each reporter has different definition about what to cover and what is not. Furthermore it is also depending on what acquire by the organisation that belong to the newspaper. As a result, some events covered and others not? However as long as it will not reflect the government and readers, that news can be printed.

Example: When a dog bite a man! That is not news. But when a man bites a dog! That is news. News is something that will make readers interested to continually reading.

Usually, daily newspaper needs more news rather than weekly newspaper. However, though you had to rush there and than to grab a story, you should bare in mind what to report, who to quote and what angle to take. Especially when writing in the state newspaper? Reporters should know how to tackle and which angle is suitable to be highlighted.

The 5W 1H: who, what, where, when, why and how are the things that reporter should look into once writing the story. It will make your story more valuable because you had the exact information when it is published to the public or readers.

In a few years ahead, though all the news can be reached by clicking a button, but I still believed that readers still needs newspaper. Its feel different when one wake up in the morning without newspaper on one’s hand. A newspaper is a publication that contained news, information and advertising. Usually it is printed on a low-cost paper called newsprint. It may be general or special interest, most often published daily or weekly.

For the young reporter who still think that you had had did your best, you should change your attitude immediately. Go out and find the news. Doesn’t just waiting the news will fly to your office? Only you can decide what you think and you have the ability to take complete control over your life. So live life for the fullest

Selamat Hari Raya

Month of Ramadhan flew away and Syawal came as waited by every Muslim who had completed the fasting. Hari Raya song on aired almost every minute. Children are happily with their ‘Duit Raya’ and playing with fire work, though it is banned by the government.

Ketupat (rice cooked in coconut leave) and rendang (beef or chicken cooked with spices and extract of coconut) are the most special food items cooked during this festive. Relatives and friends come and go. Now, we are at the fifth day of Aidil Fitri.

Time flew away like wind blowing. Hope will see the next Ramadhan and Hari Raya the coming year.

ANOTHER STAGE OF SATISFACTION

Another stage of satisfaction

In our life, there are a few stages that we had to go through in order to achieve the victory that we desire. On that way to success, there are so many obstacles. That is understood. In every achievement, there must be somebody behind all the thick and thin. And I am very grateful to have my hubby behind all my success. In sports, you win some and lose some, and that is acceptable. However, if you lose all the time, then something must be wrong some where. Also goes in our life. So in order to get everything right, passionate and hard work is importance. These two aspects should have in your mind if you want to grasp the success.

When I first sent my proposal to write the Adli in fantasy a couple of months ago, I never imagined that the publisher will print my book within a short period. After the other side agreed and asked me to start writing my book, I felt so pleased. I think in about one month, I finished writing my first series. Seven month later, on January 2007, the first Adli in fantasy series (white monkey mission) come out and distributed to the market. I was also involved in choosing my illustrator by looking at a few illustrations that email to me by the editor in-charged. They are a few photos inside the book and I am satisfied with the illustration. It is cute and live.

Once, the publisher had proposed to publish the book in a form of NOMIK (novel and comic). However, I disagreed. Then they came out with a few illustrations to attract reader especially young readers to grab and read the book. I then continue writing the second series. On July 2007, the series of Adli in fantasy…breakthrough time tunnel has released. Alhamduliallah, at the same time, I received a phone call from the editor in-charged informed me that the Adli in fantasy…first series need to be reprinted sooner possible. What a surprise!

Thank you to Allah for given his blessing till I am what I am at this stage. Thank you to my husband and children.

SOMETHING TO SHARE WITH...

God has not created human for failure. He created human in superb condition. We are the one who put ourselves near to the ground. In many ways, at any circumstances, we need to choose which the best for us is in order to achieve the shining glory. We have to go along many obstacles before we get what we need.

Sadness and happiness, glorious and victory moment will only appear when God say so. We should always say alhamduliallah at any condition. But, as the older say, we never satisfy whatever we have in present.

When things goes wrong, then we realized that we have misses the moment too much. At that time, everything is hopeless where no way to turn back.

I do not know what to write in this Wenesday morning. Just to share some ideas where we can think about it and improve our live.

Writing Process

Writers should look at many aspects when planning to write. What are the aspects?

Audience and purpose are the two most important aspects.

Who you are writing for and what you are trying to do influence every aspect of the writing task. Without this information to focus the task, you may have trouble getting started on the writing, or have trouble making decisions about what to include and what to leave out.

When you are writing a personal letter the audience is usually one person, often a person you know very well. In such a situation, words come easily, because audience and purpose are well-defined and familiar. Many real-world writing situations involve audiences that the writer must partially or wholly imagine. The ability to imagine different audiences and serve their various needs is an important measure of a writer's fluency.

How would the language and style be different? I’ll continue next blog.

Start writing now because time is too precious. The moment you start writing, you will feel the excitement and a new you will come out without you realize.

Have a nice day ahead. The future is too far to catch. So keep it up. The brighter day will shine you for a new life.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY

Usually, Monday is a hectic day through out the seven consecutive days. However, today, it is different cause it's school holiday.

I have enough time to prepare myself to work. Children still sleeping. But still, I am late. The moment I punch the punch card, it showed 8.10 a.m.

I am still thinking of a nice and cheaper holiday this school break. Get away from everything.

I hope by this week I have the place on my mind.

Unaccomplished Mission

March has left me a few days ago. Now, it’s April. I am still here, trying so hard to accomplish my mission.

A few month ago, I had promised the publisher to complete my second manuscript by end of March.

Unfortunately, I could not make it. Ah – I am trying to search my magic touch. I know it is here inside me, but until this precious moment, I still lost the touch.

JOURNAL OF TODAY

Today is Thursday. If I have to count, I think I only left a few days before March end its month.

I tried to comfort myself. I know the dateline is just one step ahead, yet I haven't finished my last words for my next novel.

Adli di Alam Fantasi...menerobos terowong masa. I guess this is the best title at the moment. I cannot think of any title.

It is almost 6.00 p.m. I have to pack my things and bring back my office lap top to finish my work at home.

WRITING NOVEL

Writing is a good process where you can see a different kind of you inside the character that you built. Creating a character is not as easy as what readers out there thought. Some writers have to have specific character when writing book.

They have to create the characters first before further the writing process. I agree that every novel should have its own character that could attract readers to keep on reading till the end of the story. Sometimes writers need more than one main character to support the story.

If you plan to writer, just write simple sentence that could attract readers. Build a simple character for your start.

Remember, don't write long sentences cause it would bored readers. So start your talent now and you will feel the satisfaction when the ending of it finish.

It is almost 5 p.m and I should be ready to back home. The tiredness still felt inside me. Last three days, I have been teaching the PLKN students at Kem Warisan Masjid Tanah, Melaka. It was all about poem (Program Penghayatan Sastera & Budaya). They were very fragile yet so stuburn. But at lease after four camp, this time my group had won third place.

Congratulations for my students.

IT'S FRIDAY

Alhamduliallah we are at the end of friday evening. A few hours from now, I can packed my things and back home and enjoy another wonderful weekend.

The rain outside my office building coolest the surrounding. I have planned so much activities this weekend. As I wish Lord will give me a great idea to continue my novel and I also wish everybody out there will cherish every moment in your life.

Life is so short. Somehow we should survive in any situation. So do not think about the past or future too much. Just do whatever things that you feel energertic and make you more confident in enduring your lifetime.

Give love to everyone surrounding you. When love is shining, you will feel the brighterness inside yourself. So my dearie friends, give as much love as you can before you were too late.

Time is so precious. So happy wonderful friday and be with your love one.

A bit busy this week coz just finished organised seminar in conjunction of 50 years nationhood of Malaysia.

Will continue with next seminar. This time an international talks on the destruction of Al-Aqsa and Baitulmaqdis.

MAGIC OLD CASTLE

That year was 1978. I was seven years old when my magic old castles built. Reminiscent of it still lies in my over large head. Sitting alone looking at the fallen of my magic old castle sadden my heart. It’s too old now. It should be abandoned. The wood that was used inside it had been eaten by the nature disease. The moment when I saw that castle fallen down, I knew that was the sadness ever have in my entire life. This is the place where my sibling and I were together through good and bad time. May the building of my family’s new castle could wash away all the bad moment and bring the brighter light into it.

As I looked into your eyes, I see all the reason why. My life worth a thousand skies, you’re the simplest love I want. My baby you’re the reason I can fly and cause of you I don’t have to wonder why. You’re my greatest love at all. My heart touched the moment I looked inside my father eyes. All the good and bad time with his wife (my late mother) was in that castle. The pain of building the castle still bear in his mind, I guess. Instead, that castle taught me lot. That was the place where I started my writing talent. At that moment, I did not realize that talent was inside me. I wrote and wrote till my teacher during my first year in form six at High School teased me. He said my poem was superb. At that time, I did not feel anything. A simple compliment from my teacher does not mean anything to me. That was 1989. I was too fragile to understand the words that coming from my teacher.

Now, year of 2007, I have written a few books that I never expected before. I never dreamt to be a writer. I wrote things through my interpretation and imagination. And what I knew most about myself is that I have a sharp mind. I could remember and describe every single thing that happened in my entire life clearly. The gifted that had been given by God, I should use it wisely. Now I realized that I should write more to educate society. Wish me luck. Hope the blessing from the Almighty could guide me along my way to success.

RAIN

It's raining outside my office building. Looking at the rain made me feel calm. It is cool if I am not working today.

Unfortunately, I have to go another eight hours before the clock showed 5 p.m.
