The FBI believes it has "solid" evidence that the suspected mole supplied Israel with classified materials that include secret White House policy deliberations on Iran.

(CBS) CBS News has learned that the FBI has a full-fledged espionage investigation under way and is about to -- in FBI terminology -- "roll up" someone agents believe has been spying not for an enemy, but for Israel from within the office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon.

60 Minutes Correspondent Lesley Stahl reports the FBI believes it has "solid" evidence that the suspected mole supplied Israel with classified materials that include secret White House policy deliberations on Iran.

At the heart of the investigation are two people who work at The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a powerful pro-Israel lobby in Washington.

The FBI investigation, headed up by Dave Szady, has involved wiretaps, undercover surveillance and photography that CBS News was told document the passing of classified information from the mole, to the men at AIPAC, and on to the Israelis.

CBS sources say that last year the suspected spy, described as a trusted analyst at the Pentagon, turned over a presidential directive on U.S. policy toward Iran while it was, "in the draft phase when U.S. policy-makers were still debating the policy."

This put the Israelis, according to one source, "inside the decision-making loop" so they could "try to influence the outcome."

The case raises another concern among investigators: Did Israel also use the analyst to try to influence U.S. policy on the war in Iraq?
With ties to top Pentagon officials Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith, the analyst was assigned to a unit within the Defense Department tasked with helping develop the Pentagon's Iraq policy.

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has been made aware of the case. The government notified AIPAC today that it wants information about the two employees and their contacts with a person at the Pentagon.

AIPAC told CBS News it is cooperating with the government and has hired outside counsel. It denies any wrongdoing by the organization or any of its employees.

An Israeli spokesman said, "We categorically deny these allegations. They are completely false and outrageous." The suspected spy has not returned repeated phone calls from CBS News.

The Franklin-AIPAC-Israeli investigation was more than a spy case. It involved the future of US-Middle East relations.

In August 2004, the FBI and the US Justice Department counter-intelligence bureau announced that they were investigating a top Pentagon analyst suspected of spying for Israel and handing over highly confidential documents on US policy toward Iran to AIPAC which in turn handed them over to the Israeli Embassy. The FBI had been covertly investigating senior Pentagon analyst, Larry Franklin and AIPAC leaders, Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman for several years prior to their indictment for spying. On August 29, 2005 the Israeli Embassy predictably hotly denied the spy allegation. On the same day Larry Franklin was publicly named as a spy suspect. Franklin worked closely with Michael Ledeen and Douglas Feith, then Undersecretary for Defense in the Pentagon, in fabricating the case for war with Iraq. Franklin was the senior analyst on Iran, which is at the top of AIPAC's list of targets for war.

As the investigation proceeded toward formal charges of espionage, the pro-Israeli think tanks and neo-con ideologues joined in a two-prong response. On the one hand some questioned whether "handing over documents" was a crime at all, claiming it involved "routine exchanges of ideas" and lobbying. On the other hand, Israeli officials and media denied any Israeli connection with Franklin, minimizing his importance in policy-making circles, while others vouched for his integrity.

The FBI investigation of the Washington spy network deepened and included the interrogation of two senior members of Feith's Office of Special Plans, William Luti and Harold Rhode. The OSP was responsible for feeding bogus intelligence leading to the US attack of Iraq. The leading FBI investigator, Dave Szady, stated that the FBI investigation involved wiretaps, undercover surveillance and photography that document the passing of classified information from Franklin to the men at AIPAC and on to the Israelis.

The Franklin-AIPAC-Israeli investigation was more than a spy case. It involved the future of US-Middle East relations and more specifically whether the 'neo-cons' would be able to push the US into a military confrontation with Iran. Franklin was a top Pentagon analyst on Iran, with access to all the executive branch deliberations on Iran. AIPAC lobbying and information gathering was aggressively directed toward pushing the Israeli agenda on a US-Iranian confrontation against strong opposition in the State Department, CIA, military intelligence and field commanders.

Franklin's arrest on May 4, 2005 and the subsequent arrest of AIPAC foreign policy research director Steve Rosen and Iran specialist and deputy director for foreign policy, Keith Weissman on August 4, 2005 was a direct blow to the Israeli-AIPAC war agenda for the US. The FBI investigation proceeded with caution accumulating detailed intelligence over several years. Prudence was dictated by the tremendous political influence that AIPAC and its allies among the Conference of the Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations wield in Congress, the media and among Fundamentalist Christians and which could be brought to bear when the accused spies were brought to trial.

The first blow was struck on August 29, 2004, when CBS publicized the FBI investigation just when Franklin confessed to have passed highly confidential documents to a member of the Israeli government and began cooperating with federal agents. He was prepared to lead authorities to his contacts inside the Israeli government. Subsequently Franklin stopped cooperating. The Anti-Defamation League's (a leading Jewish pro-Israeli lobby) Abe Foxman called for a special prosecutor to investigate "leaks" of the FBI investigation, because they were "tarnishing" Israel's image. Then Attorney General Ashcroft intervened to try to apply the brakes to the investigation, which spread into the neo-con nest in the Pentagon: Feith, Wolfowitz, Perle, and Rubin were "interviewed" by the FBI. Neo-con Michael Rubin, former Pentagon specialist on Iran and resident "scholar" at the American Enterprise Institute, blasted Bush for "inaction in the spy affair" and called the investigation an "anti-Semitic witch hunt" (Forward Sept. 10, 2004). AIPAC launched a campaign against the spy probe and in support of its activities and leaders. As a result scores of leading Congress members from both parties vouched for AIPAC's integrity and pledged their confidence and support of AIPAC.

Never in the history of the United States had so many leading Congress members from both parties pledged their support for an organization under suspicion of spying, based only on information supplied by the suspect and in total ignorance of the federal prosecutor's case. Contrary to the bipartisan Congressional support for AIPAC, a poll of likely voters found that 61 per cent believed that AIPAC should be asked to register as an agent of a foreign power and lose its tax exempt status. Only 12 per cent disagreed. Among American Jews, 59 per cent were not sure, while 15 per cent strongly agreed and 15 per cent strongly disagreed (Zogby International, Sept. 25, 2004). Clearly many Americans have serious doubts about the loyalty and nature of AIPAC activities, contrary to their elected representatives. The federal spy investigation proceeded despite Executive and Congressional opposition, knowing that it had the backing of the great majority of US citizens.

In the very recent past we all know that in our respective homes, our parents, rich and poor alike used to teach children of all age to speak the truth. They would even severely punish their children if they were found speaking lies. In those days speaking lies was considered to be a serious offence. In fact, lie is still considered to be as such.

If viewed from analytical perspective “LIE” can be termed as the mother of all crimes.

In childhood if the children are not taught to speak the truth then in youth, mid-age or even at old age they may become dangerous criminal irrespective of they belong rich or poor families.

Therefore, it is considered to be an important factor in regard character building. It is suggested, that at home and school issue of character building be given top priority to imbue children with good character qualities and genuine good moral and ethical values to build a better society with the purpose to improve and maintain a durable good social and cultural environment that would enable to establish the living conditions substantially congenial to leave in peace and tranquility .

One may ask as to why it is so important for children’s character building now? This so because these days the parents no more have time enough time to teach their children any moral, ethical and religious norms and customs.

The decline to speak the truth and the propensity to speak lies even at the highest level of the society has expedited the already deteriorating social structure in every part of the world to collapse much quicker than expected.

Hence, it has become a vital important factor that could reverse the increasing tendency of unabated crime of all sorts and violence among young generation of the societies and would halt the degeneration of the social fibers of a good society to live in peace and tranquility with dignity.

As such when teaching to speak the truth cannot be given by parents to the children, due to certain social, economical and financial constraints/compulsions of families then obviously the responsibility to impart the teaching to the children be shared by all living in the society including the government.. It has therefore, become imperative to impart the same to the children at national level.

An extensive research work revealed that parents of lower to upper middle class families mostly engaged in government, private and or business jobs remain mostly busy in work to earn enough to meet the expenses of the family. As a result per force can’t give time to children’s quality upbringing.

On the other hand, the children belonging to the well to do families get easily spoiled due to extravagancy of wealth and because of parent’s careless attitude toward the proper upbringing of their children. More so the parents of these rich tycoons hardly care to teach their children in any social norms least to speak the truth. It has been observed that children of well to do families, when they grow up, mostly turn out to be the Godfathers of heinous criminal groups and are insolent in their mannerism.

It is a fact, in recent days the teachers in the schools think it is not their duty to teach the students regarding moral, social and religious norms and customs. They say, because these are not in the yearly curriculum of studies duly approved every year by the respective Government so it is not their responsibility.

The other is criminal minded people modified the text of original religious scripts in contravention of the religions. Some interested group to suit their evil designed intent ensured that all follow the same as per their modification of the Holy Bible, Engle and Torah. The only holy book that is still prevalent in its original form is the Holy QURAN. But MOSSAD had tried time and again to corrupt the original scriptures, but thanks to almighty they miserably failed to achieve their nefarious aim and objectives.

Here mention must be made that religious teaching to child had always acted as miracle in the formation of goods character qualities in a person. As all religion advocates good thing any asks people to shun the bad. But we man kind have converted the religions also into dirty politics.

However, we shall in subsequent paragraphs examine and try to understand as to what “Truth Means”? Its power and effectiveness, if taught to the children and how it could be beneficial to uplift the present social debacle in the world and how could it also act as a sure healer to curb crimes and reverse the fast deteriorating social structure.

We have seen from time immemorial that in every society most hated people by the bad guys are those who are honest and truthful. It may be mentioned that at the same time these honest and truthful people are being feared by the bad and is respected by the good people of the society. But, then why is that so?

Do we not know why? Surely we do. It could be because tendency or lust for wealth is the root reason that differentiates badly from good. And thus the tendency to do crime took birth. Here it would be pertinent to mention that people who were in the habit of telling / speaking lies were mostly successful in acquiring wealth under false pretext. Thus the world now has been infested with criminals searching wealth and committing crimes. There could be hundred and thousand other cogent factors and reasons. But then, how could it be so, one may conveniently ask,?

First of all let us visualize what we understand by “Truth” and or what is its definition:

As per dictionary truth is, conformity with fact; reality; verity; a verified or indisputable fact; proposition; principle, actuality, actual existence, an obvious or an accepted fact and the like of the above mentioned.

Now, let us try to find out why truth is so powerful surpassing all other known powers. It is because:

Truth is very powerful as the fact never changes, it remains unvarying constant always and under all circumstances.

Well, obviously the question arises, what then is “Lie?”:

We can say simply for our better understanding that lie (untrue) is a statement made to justify an action or an act by an individual in defense which is contrary to the fact of the action or act he/she has committed.

Let us now go through the definition of Crime:

Crime, as a matter of fact may vary from person to person and no definition would be acceptable to all. However, we can make an attempt to describe it:

Any injustice or harm done forcefully or otherwise to an individual, emotionally, mentally or physically falls within the meaning of crime.

Mention here may be made to the effect that, meaning of lies and crime do differ from individual to individual and country to country respectively. But the factors mentioned herein above in regard to ‘Truth’ remains constant, whereas factors of lies may vary from individual to individual and perception of crime may also vary from country to country according to the particular country’s law.

Having mentioned in brief, what Truth is and its dimension and capability, it is worth mentioning here that truth has its application in every Religion with a vast implication to religious conduct based on truth.

Since this subject matter does not purely deal with religious point of view though it does touch the subject to a degree where in moral and religious point of view comes into play. However, with this much it would be proper to leave religious side of truth here and let us proceed with the main issue under consideration.

In 50’s and 60’s apart from parents and superiors emphasizing children to speak the truth, teachers in schools and colleges had also in a small way emphasized on speaking truth. In those days, parents as well as superiors viewed lie as a serious offence and would rebuke the offender young or old alike. And at the same time, speaking truth was always received with appreciation even now. It is astounding to observe how the whole scenario these days have changed. Now the parents no more takes pain to teach their children to speak truth, the superiors over look children speaking lie and teachers no more is interested in emphasizing on students to build their moral character qualities on firm foundation for good social environment to continue.

The absence of this vital moral character quality in younger generations, is the reason of the deterioration of social condition that in fact boosted in creasing offenses of all nature. And enhanced the total crumbling of world social structure and thereby, it has also expedited the destruction of fine social fibers all over the world weakening the entire civilized social structure.

Under the circumstances prevailing now, It will be pertinent for all governments to look into the matter with extreme serious- ness attaching highest priority for retrieving the recent generation from total destruction and saving the future generations by putting them on the correct path helping them to instill in them good moral character values that would not only deter the present deterioration and total collapse of the social structure but also up lift the civilized social, moral, and religious values in the society for living in a decent social environment.

It is but quite obvious people would ask as to why such an accepted fact seemed so important to the writer to bring to the knowledge when there is no resistance to it and or its importance in any society.

Well, I acknowledge with all humility that the issue is within the knowledge of all in the world. The reason why I have taken the initiative to alert, because apprehending of the on coming catastrophe that would make living in a civilized decent society absolutely impossible and keeping silent without taking any action to inform and alert all concern would be a heinous crime. And it would definitely be regrettably sad. Then again depending on political leaders commonly known as public leaders would be a mad venture as that would never come to avert this catastrophe.

Some may yet come up with the argument that primarily it is also supposed to be their duty. The answer to this is well known that as per these public leaders mode of working and activities they would never go for any action to stop such a catastrophe rather they would leave the matter as it is. They would be waiting for the devastation to take place for a better harvest later.

It may be questioned as to how one could be sure that the Public Leaders would not take any action against such a situation. It is because of the fact that these public leaders are all self centered and very often then not speak lies to convince the public and allure them with lucrative false promises only with an intent to get the votes during election to become members of the parliament/president of the country and also mint wealth in any way they can. They did never cared, never care and will never care for the public welfare.

To site example, take the case of the top politicians of super powers to the tiny most country, all are corrupt without any exception. This is an established fact now throughout the world. The people who are the nearest to them are the people who all execute the heinous plans of corruptions of the public leaders. They are white liars and no better than the people who guides their day today activities.( the public leaders).

Therefore, the public leaders are obligated to the ruffians and least of all to the public. These so called public leaders consider the public as herd of sheep. As according to them the public is an exhaustible commodity and is easily replaceable. It would not be out of place to mention some names of top political personalities to prove the above statement and for all to understand more vividly to ascertain the actual characteristics of a politician.

And to asses what they can and cannot or what they would voluntarily do and what they would not, even if it would be their bounden duty to do.

The recent activities of the present President, Vice President, the all the Defense Secretaries of US of this regime including all those who were holding public offices in the government cabinet explicitly proves the depth of the vicious root that grew in our so propagated civilized society.

These political leaders under false pretext for personal gain lied to the public, waged an illegal war against innocent sovereign states thereby killing own innocent loyal as well as inhabitants of that country.

Israel's Blood Feud Stirs Again

The bodies of four of the eight seminary students slain by a Palestinian gunman are readied for burial in Jerusalem, March 7, 2008

The bodies of the eight Jewish seminarians were draped in prayer shawls and laid out in unvarnished wood coffins. Each was buried with a Torah scroll stained in blood from the Thursday night rampage at their seminary where a young Palestinian, armed with a semi-automatic rifle and two pistols opened fire on 80 students, most of them teenagers, trapped in a library.

Four years had passed in Jerusalem without a major terrorist attack, and its citizens had permitted themselves the luxury of thinking they were safe. Jerusalemites believed they were protected by the security wall, which separates them from the Palestinians, and by an intelligence apparatus that had cracked apart dozens of terrorist cells in the West Bank. But that illusion was demolished when a Palestinian youth, identified by police as Ala al-Din Abu Dhaim, fired more than 500 bullets at the young students gathered for a celebratory feast.

In Jerusalem, Friday was a day of martyrs. Thousands of Israelis gathered for the funeral ceremony at the Mercaz Harav seminary. The dead students were clean-cut, earnest boys who had believed in a religious expression of Zionism — that they had a right to the Biblical land of their forefathers — and were ardently prepared to defend their faith and land. Many seminarians are volunteers in Israel's combat regiments. In eulogies, they were hailed as "angels" and "the holiest of the holies".

Many mourners had driven in from the Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories. The Mercaz Harav Yeshiva had produced many of the leaders of the settlers' movement, and the attack on the seminary was seen as a calculated blow by Palestinian militants against Israel's most ideologically motivated opponents to a Palestinian state. One senior police officer told TIME that Israeli security forces are on alert in the Palestinian territories for a possible revenge attack by settlers against Arab villages. In the old city, police barred Palestinian men under the age of 45 from attending the Friday sermon at the holy al-Aqsa mosque.

Together with their powerful allies among the right-wing political and religious parties, the religious-nationalist settlers are likely to intensify their opposition to the U.S.-sponsored peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. It will now be harder, if not impossible, for Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to comply with U.S. and Palestinian demands to close down illegal Jewish outposts in the West Bank and freeze the expansion of existing settlements.

Meanwhile, on the slopes of a hill terraced with olive groves east of Jerusalem, funeral preparations were being made by Palestinians for their martyr, Abu Dhaim, the quiet and religiously minded 25-year-old who appeared to his friends to be far more obsessed with thoughts of his upcoming marriage than with a jihadi's paradise. Meanwhile, at the tent for mourners outside Abu Dhaim's home in Jebel Mukabir, the flags of Israel's two greatest enemies, Hamas and Hizballah of Lebanon, rippled in the spring breeze. Overnight, Israeli police arrested Abu Dhaim's male relatives, a few neighbors and his fiancee. But visitors to Jebel Mukabir said there was no denying the pride that some Palestinians felt at Abu Dhaim's bloody handiwork. In Gaza, news of the seminary killings was greeted with celebratory gunfire and candy was passed out on the streets.

A Hamas spokesman there praised the attack but backtracked on earlier claims of responsibility for sending Abu Dhaim on his suicide mission. If it turns out that Hamas was indeed responsible, it would mark the start of a new campaign of terror inside Israel, a likely response to Israel's hammering of Gaza last week, in which 110 Palestinians, half of them civilians, were killed. After Hamas won the January 2006 general elections in the Palestinian territories, it halted suicide bombings, though other Palestinian groups persisted. Many suicide bombers tried to slip into Israel, and most were caught, lulling many Israelis in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem into thinking that the nightmare of the Intifada bombings was behind them.

My Friends of Yahoo 360 and for all ages, this true story is only for you all. As you all will agree that I am very poor in narrating an event as I always remain confused with all the unusual things happening around us. MY narrating the facts of the event may not be that interesting to hear. Now then, to start let me give you a very brief introduction of my friend’s childhood William Ross, a gem of a person and an ever smiling chap. He could hold you spellbound in his talk/conversation.

In our childhood days, I remember he kept his entire friend circle happy and smiling all the time. Yes, this friend of mine today is my room mate, but no more a smiling kid but a nonstop 24 hours crying machine. I guess you all would like to know!! but then why he doesn't adjust? True! Why?

Your question is absolutely genuine. He cries because he lost his loved one SEVEN years hence, and till today he cries non stop for her, can you believe. Yes! It true and he is very much a living example.

It is really a mystery an absolutely unusual unbelievable event but very much a hard fact of an unfathomable love for her. I believe this, as it is happening right next to me. He carries on with his daily life as usual with tears rolling down the cheeks all the time, initially his parents thought this is because of eye trouble and consulted the eye specialist, but the doc said he is not an eye patient but a person with deep shock.

It is the 7th year and is crying non stop. My friends imagine how is that, which the lady did for him, while she was alive, that my friend William is still passing his days in such an unbelievably deep love with her memoirs. We may guess but need to know the actual fact. And to find out, I am constantly keeping in touch with him. Ladies my friends, if you want to see and believe then make a trip and see for yourself, I invite you all because you ladies come and see the capability you all have to convert any type of male human being of any race and religion as the happiest person and or a crying machine at any time, who once fall in your real Love net..

Hope you all agree and would like to know why and how you do that magic? Well I will tell you, ‘IT IS ONLY SINCERE LOVE AND LOVE ONLY'.

DUBLIN, Ireland - Former President Jimmy Carter accused the U.S., Israel and the European Union on Tuesday of seeking to divide the Palestinian people by reopening aid to President Mahmoud Abbas' new government in the West Bank while denying the same to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who was addressing a human rights conference in Ireland, also said the Bush administration's refusal to accept Hamas' 2006 election victory was "criminal."

Carter said Hamas, besides winning a fair and democratic mandate that should have entitled it to lead the Palestinian government, had proven itself to be far more organized in its political and military showdowns with Abbas' moderate Fatah

Hamas fighters routed Fatah in their violent takeover of the Gaza Strip last week. The split prompted Abbas to dissolve the power-sharing government with his rivals in Hamas and set up a Fatah-led administration to govern the West Bank.

Carter said the consensus of the U.S., Israel and the EU to start funneling aid to Abbas' new government in the West Bank but continue blocking Hamas in the Gaza Strip represented an "effort to divide Palestinians into two peoples."

"All efforts of the international community should be to reconcile the two, but there's no effort from the outside to bring the two together," he said.

The U.S. and European countries cut off the Hamas-led government last year because of the Islamic militant group's refusal to renounce violence and recognize Israel. They have continued to send humanitarian aid to Gaza through the United Nations and other organizations.

In the latest crisis, the U.S., Israel and much of the West have been trying to shore up Abbas in hopes that the West Bank can be made into a democratic example that would bring along Gaza.

During his speech to Ireland's annual Forum on Human Rights, the 83-year-old former president said monitors from his Carter Center observed the 2006 election that Hamas won. He said the vote was "orderly and fair" and Hamas triumphed, in part, because it was "shrewd in selecting candidates," whereas a divided, corrupt Fatah ran multiple candidates for single seats.

Far from encouraging Hamas' move into parliamentary politics, Carter said the U.S. and Israel, with European Union acquiescence, sought to subvert the outcome by shunning Hamas and helping Abbas to keep the reins of political and military power.

"That action was criminal," he said in a news conference after his speech.

"The United States and Israel decided to punish all the people in Palestine and did everything they could to deter a compromise between Hamas and Fatah," he said.

Carter said the U.S. and others supplied the Fatah-controlled security forces in Gaza with vastly superior weaponry in hopes they would "conquer Hamas in Gaza" — but Hamas routed Fatah in the fighting last week because of its "superior skills and discipline."

And the simple minded public believing their promises on good faith cast their valueable votes in favor of these liars. And after being voted to power, these liars call the public street dogs and herd of sheep.

Over and above this, when they the have nots demand the minimum of what they were promised to be given to them during campaigning, they are beaten and tortured to death.

The so called politicians and financial tycoons, call the public majority as barking street dogs. What an irony of fate, “HOW VERY PATHETIC, THE KING MAKERS ARE BUT THESE VERY HAVE NOT BEGGARS”.

However, It is not the case with any particular country. As same SYSTEM is prevalent in every country, be it a western, eastern, southern, northern, central and or rich & poor countries of the world.

I suppose, this fact is no more, a national prestige issue or a subject limited to common discussion. In fact, it has become an issue of serious bone of contention between two factions of population in every country. Therefore, it can be assumed to be an issue that concerns the whole world population BETWEEN two groups.THE HAVES, and the majority THE HAVE NOTS.

The situation had long been stretched to aggravate and has now reached a dangerous height that could at any moment flare up and can take serious violent turn. The social intelligentsias opined, that it is only a matter of time now, DEPENDING ON HOW THE POLITICIANS HANDLE THE ISSUE. The Factors of contention is mentioned below:-

Having mentioned a few out of many factors, it is presumed that the mentioned factors are the most important, that had been the cause to have heated up the atmosphere of human living all throughout the world.

The poor majority had long been the VICTIM of Political, Social, Economical, Racial, and Religious discrimination and had been exploited beyond all human toleration limit. So much so, over and above they are being slaughtered with a spree to celebrate the devilish victory and desire to run rivers of blood, all throughtout the length & breadth of the world with ulterior motive of establishing hegemony on Independence, Liberty, and Independent sovereign states.

Government should hold both the media people accountable for publishing and broadcasting false or trash for public consumption to earn money.

LONDON, England (AP) -- Britain's support for the war in Iraq was a "major tragedy" for the world, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said Saturday, as he criticized Tony Blair's unwavering support for President Bush.

Asked how he would judge Blair's support of Bush, Carter said: "Abominable. Loyal. Blind. Apparently subservient."

"And I think the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world," Carter told British Broadcasting Corp. radio.

Carter also told an American newspaper that Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations, taking aim at the White House's policy of pre-emptive war and its Middle East diplomacy.

Blair was in Baghdad Saturday morning for what will be his last trip to Iraq as British prime minister. Last week, Blair announced that he would step down June 27, making way for treasury chief Gordon Brown.

The war in Iraq has been the defining foreign policy issue of Blair's premiership, and the decision to join the U.S.-led invasion was an unpopular one at home. So far, nearly 150 British service personnel have died in Iraq.

Carter told the BBC that Britain's support made it more difficult for critics of the war, and that things could have been different if Britain spoke out against the 2003 invasion.

"I can't say it would have made a definitive difference, but it would certainly have assuaged the problems that arose lately," said Carter, who was U.S. president from 1977 to 1981 and has been a critic of the war.

"One of the defenses of the Bush administration, in the American public and on a worldwide basis -- and it's not been successful in my opinion -- has been that, OK, we must be more correct in our actions than the world thinks because Great Britain is backing us.

"And so I think the combination of Bush and Blair giving their support to this tragedy in Iraq has strengthened the effort, and has made opposition less effective and has prolonged the war and increased the tragedy that has resulted."

It's not the first time Carter has criticized Britain. Last year, he said he was disappointed with "the apparent subservience" of the British government to Washington on issues such as Iraq and last summer's Israel-Hezbollah conflict.

'Worst in history'
The criticism of Bush from Carter, which a biographer says is unprecedented for the 39th president, also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative funding.

"I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history," Carter told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in a story that appeared in the newspaper's Saturday editions. "The overt reversal of America's basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me."

Carter spokeswoman Deanna Congileo confirmed his comments to The Associated Press on Saturday and declined to elaborate. He spoke while promoting his new audiobook series, "Sunday Mornings in Plains," a collection of weekly Bible lessons from his hometown of Plains, Georgia.

"Apparently, Sunday mornings in Plains for former President Carter includes hurling reckless accusations at your fellow man," said Amber Wilkerson, Republican National Committee spokeswoman. She said it was hard to take Carter seriously because he also "challenged Ronald Reagan's strategy for the Cold War."

Carter came down hard on the Iraq war.

"We now have endorsed the concept of pre-emptive war where we go to war with another nation militarily, even though our own security is not directly threatened, if we want to change the regime there or if we fear that some time in the future our security might be endangered," he said. "But that's been a radical departure from all previous administration policies."

Carter, who won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, criticized Bush for having "zero peace talks" in Israel. Carter also said the administration "abandoned or directly refuted" every negotiated nuclear arms agreement, as well as environmental efforts by other presidents.

Carter also offered a harsh assessment for the White House's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, which helped religious charities, receive $2.15 billion in federal grants in fiscal year 2005 alone.

"The policy from the White House has been to allocate funds to religious institutions, even those that channel those funds exclusively to their own particular group of believers in a particular religion," Carter said. "As a traditional Baptist, I've always believed in separation of church and state and honored that premise when I was president, and so have all other presidents, I might say, except this one."

Douglas Brinkley, a Tulane University presidential historian and Carter biographer, described Carter's comments as unprecedented.

"This is the most forceful denunciation President Carter has ever made about an American president," Brinkley said. "When you call somebody the worst president, that's volatile. Those are fighting words."

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- White House insiders tell CNN that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales hurt himself during testimony before a Senate committee Thursday on the firing of eight U.S. attorneys The sources, involved in administration discussions about Gonzales, told White House correspondent Suzanne Malveaux that two senior level White House aides who heard the testimony described Gonzales as "going down in flames," "not doing himself any favors," and "predictable."

During his testimony, Gonzales apologized for the manner in which the attorneys were fired, but added that, "nothing improper occurred."

"Everyone's putting their best public face on," one source said, "but everyone is discouraged. Everyone is disappointed."

But these sources acknowledge that no one knows what the president will do. No one is looking for a replacement yet, sources said, and the White is waiting to see how this plays out with the public and members of Congress over the next couple of days.

Another White House insider said it's up to the President to save him.

Publicly, White House Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino said Gonzales has the full backing of the president:

Leading Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee also were critical of Gonzales, including one who called for his resignation.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, said Gonzales should resign.

And I believe you ought to suffer the consequences that these others have suffered," Coburn said, adding, "I believe the best way to put this behind us is your resignation."

Coburn is the first Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee to call for Gonzales' resignation.

Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pennsylvania, told reporters that Gonzales' "credibility has been impaired" and that the case has put career attorneys in a precarious position.

Specter said he would not recommend Gonzales resign because that decision was for the president and the attorney general.

Criticism of Gonzales also came from Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who is usually viewed as a supporter of the Bush administration.

"I believe you are a good and decent man," Cornyn told Gonzales. "But I have to tell you that the way this process has been handled is really deplorable."

March 17, 2007 - A clear Majority of the public believes the Bush administration’s firing of eight U.S. attorneys was politically motivated, according to a new NEWSWEEK Poll. And the survey showed only weak support for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed—including 45 percent of Republicans–say the ouster of the federal prosecutors was driven by political concerns. Those attitudes seem to reflect a broader view of the Bush administration’s approach.

There should be a provision specially made in the constitution that if, in any case of any judge found involved and is proved beyond any shadow of doubt to be guilty of offences in awarding verdict on any case that could be considered biased and or is politically motivated, or because of having given the verdict due to political influence, then that particular judge should face death penalty without any mercy. As a judge had been empowered to award death to guilty on being convicted for an offence, therefore the judges must be above board in regard to all illegal practices or suffer the ultimate punishment -death penalty. And after all why not?

Now, the prosecutors, they should be honest to their professional ethics and should not play in the hands of the government official or politicians for being selected as prosecutors. Their duty is to help the judges of the court to get to the truth of the case and to help in awarding the right verdict for both the accused and the complainant. If they are found selling and or compromising their legal ethics (which they very often do in lieu of money) should invariably be hanged to death.

But alas! These days the attorneys/ the prosecutors they behave like first class pimps in the courts of law and buthchers in a meat market. The moment they get a client they then and there slaughter him, and then they dine on him like vultures do on dead,

"Cheney's influence on intelligence has declined markedly," said Democratic Senator John D. Rockefeller IV of West Virginia, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Cheney is hardly unaware of Rice's new dominance. A senior Administration official told TIME last week that Cheney has been part of all the arguments and has simply begun to lose some. But that alone means ideas that would have been unthinkable just a year or two ago — early engagement, muscular multilateralism, even patient negotiation — are becoming more acceptable in Bush land.

American diplomats have asked the Jordanians for their notes on the Clinton-era negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, seeking to restart the Middle East peace talks that fell apart abruptly at the end of 2000. That's yet another turnabout for an Administration that lampooned those very talks in 2002.

Of course, some of the repositioning was inevitable, and most of it was long overdue. Even if Bush and Cheney didn't want to listen to the polls on the home front, they couldn't ignore the few allies they had left overseas.

Britain's Tony Blair announced a partial pullout from Iraq last month, and then moderate Arab neighbors in the region began to clamor for Bush to pull up before he crashed.

On Wednesday, King Abdullah II of Jordan made an impassioned public appeal in a joint meeting of Congress for Washington to take the lead on Middle East peace talks.

While Rice rewires foreign policy, White House chief of staff Joshua Bolton is showing signs that he can match Cheney on domestic matters.

The Bush Administration has said it will retreat on the issue of domestic surveillance and abide by laws regulating wiretaps passed years ago by Congress. And the Democrats in Congress are finding Administration officials far more forthcoming with facts and figures about the conduct of the war in Iraq, in part because the White House knows that the next step — subpoenas — won't help their dwindling poll ratings. "There has been an ebb and flow," said Pennsylvania Republican Arlen Specter, "and the President has come to realize that the broader assertions of executive power had to be tempered."

But there is another force driving the Bush team to pivot: the ticking of the clock. "It's very hard to do things at the very, very end," said Wendy Sherman, who coordinated North Korean policy in the Clinton State Department.

"If the President wants to end eight years and have people say, 'You lost Iraq, you lost Iran, you lost North Korea, and you made the Middle East worse,' it's not a good moment in history. And so the pragmatists are predominant at the moment. This is their window."

George Bush's sense of humor has always run more to frat-house gag than art-house irony, so he may not have appreciated the poetic justice any more than the legal justice on display in the Libby verdict.

Or, to be more precise, the Cheney verdict.

Bush stumped just about everyone seven years ago when he tapped the safe and solid Dick Cheney to be his running mate. But Bush didn't want any trouble. He didn't want a Vice President who preened before the cameras. He didn't want a policy sparring partner. And he didn't want someone who would check out after five years and run for President himself. And because Bush got exactly the kind of partner he wanted, he now faces the very problem he tried to avoid. Cheney has become the Administration's enemy within, the man whose single-minded pursuit of ideological goals, creaking political instincts and love of secrecy produced an independent operation inside the White House that has done more harm than good.

On an imaginary political balance sheet, Cheney is the Democrats' most valuable asset. And reversing that situation is getting close to impossible. Cheney recently made his weekly pilgrimage to the Senate, where he had lunch on March 6 with Republicans. He took his usual seat on one side of the stately Mike Mansfield Room and watched the proceedings quietly. Various Senators came by to ask him about his health after a blood-clot scare the day before. Others quietly lent support in the wake of that morning's four-count guilty verdict of Cheney's top aide, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby. But for all the personal shows of support, more Republicans with each passing week have acknowledged privately what is felt across Washington when it comes to the Vice President: his time has passed.

And what a time it was. Back in the days of Bush's first term, aides to Cheney loved to regale journalists with tidbits about the scope of the Vice President's influence and the intensity of his commitment to protecting the U.S. from a terrorist attack. He was so driven and hands-on, the aides would say, that he and Libby would routinely ask to see raw intelligence rather than the processed analysis put together by the cia and other agencies. "He's a voracious consumer of intelligence," said an admiring aide to the Vice President. "Sometimes he asks for raw intelligence to make his own judgment. He wants it all."

He may have come across as deferential to the President in public, but friends and advisers in the fall of 2002 described Cheney as nothing less than the engine of the Administration. "There's no way in which he is not driving the train on this," said one, referring to Cheney's role in pushing Bush and the Administration inexorably toward an invasion of Iraq. "Analysis, advocacy — it's all done by Cheney or his prot駩s or his former mentor [Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld]. It's about context. It's reflective not so much of Cheney's direct influence on the President as it is of his influence on — his dominance of — the decision-making process. It's about providing the facts and analysis to the decision maker that the decision maker needs. Bush is making the decision, but the Veep is directing the process toward the decision that he thinks is the right one." In other words, Cheney had so rigged the process that important decisions were foregone conclusions, ones that had been reached by the Vice President well in advance.

Walter Cronkite: Iraq War a "Disaster"

It was in 1968, when CBS Anchorman Walter Cronkite did a combat tour of Vietnam, and came back highly critical of that war.
His pronouncement that the Vietnam War was unwinnable led to such a shift in public opinion against the war that President Lyndon Johnson said, "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost America."
The 90-year-old Cronkite was in San Jose on Friday addressing the Commonwealth Club. In an exclusive interview with CBS 5, he weighed in on the situation in Iraq.
"We should have gotten out a long time ago. This is a mistake, this entire war there, its a disaster. And the earlier we get out the better," Cronkite said. "It's a terrible disaster. Look at the loss of lives of our young Americans there and those who have been maimed for life, for what purpose? No purpose we can define."

In my earlier analytical comments published in yahoo360 based on various facts on News & Politics, I remember to have asked the concerned as to what offence constitute “GENOCIDE”. Is there any clause or sub clause wherein provision is there for particular countries to have been exempted from being held to have “COMMITED GENOCIDE?” on the plea that the country’s president is the president of a supper super power.

Now, the people around the world after having very keenly observed that countries population had been murdered by ISRAEL with the help of a superpower’s unwavering self claimed Commander-In-Chief of the USA armed forces. Though USA had no enmity/reasons with that victim tiny impoverished country to have involved itself in such illegal war declared against it and massacred human violating all norms of humanity. After a through Inquiry by the concerned UNO Organization it was established that Crime against Humanity had been committed by Israel. Now, therefore as per definition of abettor shouldn’t also USA’ President Mr. Push be mandatory held responsible for the same offence as that of the main accused. ISN’T IT, Mr. Secretary General ? Congressman Acts to Revoke Iraq War Resolution

In response to President Bush's speech Wednesday night, many Democrats and Republicans in Congress have rebuked his plan to increase the number of troops in Iraq .

Among Democrats, strategies for gradual draw-downs or strategic redeployments have been proposed and are being considered. Legislation to force the president to get authorization from Congress for a troop escalation has been proposed by Senator Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.). Congressman Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) has joined Senator Kennedy's call; co-authoring similar legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives. Representative Abercrombie is the Chairman of the powerful Air-Land Subcommittee which oversees military ground forces and air power. Senator Harry Reid stated Thursday that he has enough Republican support to pass a non-binding resolution of disapproval for the president's plan.

One Democratic member of the House of Representatives has taken a more drastic step.

Congressman Sam Farr introduced legislation Thursday that would repeal the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002, essentially pulling the rug out from under the president.

Revoking of the authorization that gave war powers to the president would stop the "surge" in its tracks and would mandate an immediate withdrawal of US Forces from Iraq .

Accompanying his resolution, Congressman Farr issued this statement: "The longer this war drags on, the clearer it becomes that it is the wrong war at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. Trying to make up for the fact that the administration insisted on going into Iraq with too few troops more than three years ago by escalating our involvement now is not a 'new strategy.' There is a way forward, but that way is through withdrawing, not sending more troops."

Congressman Farr gave some background on this effort Wednesday in an interview on "The Peter B. Collins Radio Show."

Farr outlined his view about Congressional war powers: "We strict constitutionalists think that the president needs a new resolution. This president and the former president have ignored this."

"When the Republicans were in charge of the House and Senate, they insisted that President Clinton had to have permission to go into Kosovo."

Three votes were taken in the House. "The first vote was to support the war; it failed. The second vote was to oppose the war; it failed. The third vote was to do nothing about it; it failed."

Thursday, when asked about cutting funding for the occupation in Iraq, Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said, "I don't think Congress has the authority to do it." McConnell added, "You can't run a war by a committee of - you know - 435 in the House and 100 in the Senate." McConnell supported legislation in November of 1993 that set a timetable for the military action in Somalia by cutting off funding.

At this point, it is unlikely Congressman Farr will garner the support needed to pass this bill. As with all legislation, it will be subject to a presidential veto if it passes both houses of Congress. Thus, Farr will need support from 67 Senators and 290 members of the House if this action is to succeed.

The table has been set for a constitutional battle pitting Congress against the president. In the court of public opinion, Congress seems to have the upper hand. A CBS/AP poll conducted after Bush presented his plan to the nation showed only 37 percent support for his strategy.

I, D C Happy was very happy to hear the congressmen of both parties openly condemned the President's new proposal of troop surge, but then I was thunder struck when one congressmen has hit the bulls eye and said in very short VERY RIGHTLY Mr. President stay out of IRAN.

This President knowing fully well that his days are numbered, he will commit the country to new problems to the point from waging fresh war to to the most minutest problems for the next president to come and handle the issues and fail to give a better solution.
